Re: Atari Box gets official name...

Ok, setting aside the current company's reputation and fiesabilty of yet another retro-style console... What do the ST/TT computer users here think about the possibility of an Atari branded Home Theater PC used for playing indie games & video streaming? And maybe using as a full-on computer as w...

Plug in the BeeKey to turn it into a 'real' Atari computer... :)

(Assuming they bother to put in any motherboard at all...)

Re: Space Invaders vs Pac-Man - Which Made The Biggest Impact?

I'm saying Pac-Man because it had mainstream appeal which introduced video gaming to the public outside of the dark arcades. Let me put it like this, how many Space Invaders toys were there? :)

Re: Help getting SSE running on this machine

So, VC redist. is not backward compatible, and we need to install multiple versions (if it is possible and they don't kill each other) for making SW to run ? That sucks ! Microsoft did this things better in the past. Or they just want people getting new Win versions. It's always been like this... E...

Re: CosmoEx Screencast can it replace VME video cards

Maybe running an atari emulator on CE and degrade ST to keyboard/mouse input would solve this thing... Thinking about how this would work... Clicking on CE_HATARI.PRG would run Hatari on the CE/Pi while prompting the user to switch to the HDMI display, and when Hatari closes it gives keyboard contr...

Yeah, the 3rd party legal company they hired just does a Google search fore "Atari" and automatically sends a C&D letter. Now they're going after KitKat (UK) for the Breakout ad they did a year ago...

Re: Atari 8 bit emulator for the ST

ST XFormer, I see a copy at http://www.umich.edu/~archive/atari/Emulators/stxf255.lzh Never used it, don't know its status. I had it before... It's good for running Atari BASIC programs but way too slow for games. I used it to make some cool screens that I then put in DEGAS using a screen cap progr...

Re: Enhanced port to db9 mod/program?

What about having the driver use the XBIOS function Ikbdws() to send a string of keycodes to the IKBD based on which Jagpad buttons were pressed? The game can then read the IKBD's buffer w/o having to use TOS... Believe me I wanted to make something like this over 20 years ago but just didn't have t...

Ok, here it is the STe version of Trapped II... Someone will have to copy it to a blank disk image but will also run right off a hard drive. Plus the Readme is missing but it's the same as the original version.

Re: Trapped II

It will depend on what hardware you have. You could use JayMSA to create an image of the game disk: http://phoenix.inf.upol.cz/~opichals/jay/files/jaymsa18.lzh Alternately, if the disk is not protected you could try copying the files on a modern computer and zipping them to share here. Oh I can Zip...

Problems with Windows 10

So Steem 'was' working fine under Windows 10 before but when I accendently double clicked on a ST image in a zip file, I got a black screen. Since then anytime I try to use Steem it doesn't respond. I tried deleting & reinstalling a fresh copy and even tried the original version of Steem. Nothin...

Re: My interview with:B.J West (Jaguar related)

Thanks DarkLord. Much as i loved the Jaguar for the games it got right, the more and more i learn about how Atari just seemed happy to run with the policy of 'Jusat get the damn thing out on the shelf' rather than quality 1st, it makes it harder and harder to actually 'defend' the platform in light...

Well that's funny since they were bought out by Sony in 1993 to make games for the Playstation...

No surprise about UK gaming mags in the 90's making stuff up, I still have issues of ST Format who were the ultimate Atari fanbois.
