Re: It's no more a MiSTery

Hi Slingshot,

Is there a possible port of this core to the MiSTer some day? It's progressing fast and seems to have features that FX Cast don't have at the moment. Anyways, great work!

Re: Has the HT1080z/TRS80 Model I core been ported from mist? (not coco)

Is there a way to save a typed-in BASIC program on the HT1080z core? I've checked the original dev site and Mist forum but found nothing.

Re: Newbie questions

Just discovered that all my HDMI leads work if I don't use the L.T.E 5v power supply that came with my Terasic DE10-Nano. And instead I use a different 5V 4 amp power supply. I blindly believed that the L.T.E power supply would be ok for whatever workload the DE10-Nano is given. Which is not true :...

Re: Genesis Core

Sorgelig, do you think a "Recently Opened" menu option in each core will be useful? SD2SNES and Everdrives have 10-20 short list of recently played games, Retroarch too. It is very convenient option, instead navigating through 2000 roms each time. The 'recent' file can be saved in the fat...

Re: SRAM Options

In any of these save algorithms, it would be very useful to have a way to see when the last save was done in the OSD. Or maybe a small confirmation somewhere that the save was just done. Currently, we're never sure unless we save manually. And there's always a risk, with manual save, to overwrite yo...

Re: Joystick testing thread

Hi, I was a couple of weeks without updating and today I updated both the cores, Mister and the Linux part with the update script. I see there was quite a few changes in the input support and I miss something I had before: Before, I could use interchangeably the D-Pad and the left analog stick on al...

Re: Newbie questions

When we load a computer or arcade core, we have something displayed on screen and that tells us that the core is ready to run. But when we load a console core, we get a blank screen which is confusing because there’s no indication that it’s ready. What would you think if instead of the blank screen ...

Re: Arcade cores

If we're being completely honest, all the arcade releases should have just been set to the default DIP settings in the first place  And this really isn't meant to sound ungrateful! It's not a huge problem. Hope someone can fix this in the future, it's obviously not urgent though. I Think tha...

Re: Newbie questions

Is there a way to get the time adjusted to a different time zone when MiSTer is booting connected to the internet? Yep, if you have and used Locutus' latest update script, it should have also downloaded several new scripts. One of them is named timezone, when you run it it checks your IP and ascert...

I finally got around to print NegSol's case with a bigger vent and buttons for the IO board. Here is my setup in its Mini configuration... I also plug it to my TV otherwise.

On the SD card where all cores and menu are stored. The main one. Is it formatted FAT32 when it is prepared? Mine is not physically accessible so I cannot put it in a card reader to check the format type.

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

As i've answered in FB, this info is not really correct. Probably it's more related to SD card controller than IDE. with CHS, the max heads is 16, max sectors per track is 255, max cylinders is 65536 Max addressed size with CHS: 16*255*65536*512=136902082560 bytes ~130GB As a golden rule - always l...

Re: MiSTer NES Core

Hi, Is there a way to prevent screen tearing in the NES core? I hadn't noticed it before but now I see an horizontal bar slowly going from the bottom of the screen to the top at regular intervals. This is easily visible on the Super Mario (JU) game, in demo mode. I use an HDMI monitor set at full HD...

Re: MiSTer updater script

Hi Locutus73! Now that we can use the script menu in the OSD, I think I will use your one-line command update trick to create a script file that will always download and use your latest updater. Since I use the default options, is this a safe way to launch the updater? Can the OSD menu launch a scri...

Re: C64 Core

Press F12 to bring the menu then "Load File *.PRG" to select the PRG. From Commodore BASIC, type RUN to start it. It would be nice if the C64 core would automatically do a reset before loading a PRG. Right now, the quickest way is to do CTRL-ALT-ALT before entering the OSD menu and loadin...

I love this core and the C64 in general. This was my first computer. A couple of suggestions / requests: Would it be possible to add an auto RUN and Enter command when we load a PRG file? If we could map a button on the controller to swap the joystick ports that would be nice! Thanks for all the wor...

Re: Show us your MiSTer hardware setup

Hi! I've used what I had laying around to make a case for my MiSTer setup. An old original Atari VCS was emptied of its innards to make the case. I added HDMI and LAN ports and a power switch extracted from a power bar. Inside, I used a brown extension cord (looks vintage!) and plugged in the power ...
