Re: Newbie questions

I have seen some smokemonster videos on yt and he says io board is not necessary to use mister fpga so what about the RTC that I always see in videos on youtube on a list of items you need to build a mister fpga, is it still necessary even if I wont buy an IO board? The RTC board is not needed by a...

Re: Newbie questions

UPDATE: I figured it out. So Something happened to my USB hub and it shorted? Or something. It fried all of the usb devices connected to it. I tried a different bluetooth dongle which works fine. So I just need a new USB hub I suppose! I had used a few USB hubs that also eventually stopped working ...

Re: Arcade cores

I am one of the people with a 32Mb Winbond core that only has problems on the few arcade cores that others have problems with the same memory modules.
I have a new Alliance chip coming I can solder up to one of the memory PCBs I have and see for myself if it works.

Re: Anyone here hope for MiSTer developer interviews

Well, your written English is so good I'd think you can speak it well.
But I get your point and understand why one might not be interested in giving interviews.
I personally don't like giving interviews and hate being video taped but I do like making things and
talking tech online....

Re: Arcade cores on CRT via SCART?

hmm, didn't find them on archive.org, but I built some from another mame version - again, no result. Also tried putty (mentioned in the above post), but couldn't establish a connection.. think I'll leave it for now, thank you for helping! I think there is a link in this thread to the archive.org ro...

Re: Anyone here hope for MiSTer developer interviews

I would love to see an interview of an actual MiSTer dev, especially THE MiSTer dev.
Guess actual devs are too busy dev'ing to give interviews while the merchants never miss a chance to promote themselves.

Re: Sega CD core coming soon?!? Fantastic!

This does sound pretty cool. I remember when people were asking if MiSTer could do Neo Geo and the responses were of the "maybe" and "it will be hard" sort and next thing you know, we got a Neo Geo core! We even got new memory modules to enable all the roms on Neo Geo to run! I w...

Re: Arcade cores on CRT via SCART?

Just tried it via hdmi, you're right, it's the same problem: video output is cut when I start an arcade core. Didn't think of that because the building bat files (under Win10) didn't show an error message when building the roms, they all said building was successful. So it definitely IS a basic thi...

Exactly this.
I am impressed with how many good cores keep popping up!
Also, anything retro that is very expensive in the market is a good motivation for someone to make a core if they can.

You did not have sprites but now you have them messed up. I had messed up sprites so may be I will have good sprites  . Power is back so I will be able to test later on. Yup! Now have sprites over the shadows of enemies but the enemies and the rocks and things dropped are all messed up. It's p...

Re: Arcade cores

If I start Mister, the Tiger core as the first one and let it sit the core loses its mind after a variable amount of time: the screen flips upside down with washed out colors (the background being mainly white) and the sound (which was not there until now) goes totally crazy. I do not have any prob...

Re: Arcade cores

My jttora.rom has crc32 of 16DD8565. So does mine. All three roms have the correct checksums and yet all three have issues. I have redownloaded the rbf and remade the roms and tried the unofficial core with the same result. I have only made one modification to the Mister.ini and that is adding HDMI...

What could be the problem? Have I missed something during the setup?
