Re: MISTer (Main Core)

I just realized that I haven't tried a new SD card. Working on that now...

[edit]. Yes, that was the problem. I feel stupid. I really thought that sd card came with the MiSTer but I guess I was mistaken.

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

I've been getting a black screen when trying to use some cores. I just updated everything using the updater script. It happens after selecting a game for a core. I can hear music, but the screen is black. It happens about 50% of the time. It seems random so far. The cores I've been using is snes and...

Ty for including the cheats! I was having a hard time figuring out how they work until I realized I had to select a game first. Doh!

Re: Newbie questions

What's the best way to troubleshoot cores that fail to launch? Haven't used my MiSTer in a couple months, so I ran the updater script to get the latest files. Now I'm just seeing a black screen whenever I launch the NES or SNES core. I wiped my sd card, ran a fresh install and everything is working...

Re: MiSTer NES Core

I still haven't got the cheat engine to work and I followed the wiki. Does the name of the zip file need to include .nes, like Double Dragon (USA).nes.zip? And is it possible my issue is from using the wrong version of the rom?

Re: MiSTer NES Core

I just updated the cores through the updater script and the Cheats menu item is grayed out and I don’t see game genie in the menu anymore. What am I missing?

Edit: just found the wiki

I was enjoying the game genie. I’ll miss it lol.

Re: Scripting news

I haven't used the updater script in a few weeks. Does the updater script still just update cores, or does it now do these new things? If so, are these new things optional?

Re: Show us your MiSTer hardware setup

Flausch, I really like that. That is kind of what I was wanting to do, but I don't know enough about acrylic to try. Where did you find the plastic angle pieces and black acrylic? I basically want to copy your idea but make it larger and include all the things mine has in it. That would make mine wa...

I'd rather you do what you want to do, so you don't get burned out on programming the MiSTer or get too irritated at the strange requests on the forum.

Re: Show us your MiSTer hardware setup

rockotiger, that's awesome. I've been working on something kind of similar. I chose wood. It's not done. I still have to change out the front black placeholder craft board with wood and sand the entire thing, and maybe stain it, but it's working great. I also need to add a fan. https://i.ibb.co/QY98...

Re: MiSTer updater script

Locutus73, your instructions are very clear and I didn't have any problems. So I'm totally fine how it is! However, if you are wanting to super polish the documentation, it could be more consistent with how the MiSTer files and documentation are presented. The MiSTer has a totally separate ini file ...

Re: Show us your MiSTer hardware setup

These all look really cool. I've not yet tried to build anything that looks good, but I did add a few things to my MiSTer setup. I added a powered USB hub, and new 5v - 5Amp power adapter to power both the Nano and USB hub, and a power switch. I also extended the HDMI, power, Ethernet out the back, ...

Does anyone know what size of screw would fit into the DE10 Nano standoffs? I got some M2.5 screws but was too small.
