Re: Atari 2600

I don't know the Atari2600 Hardware, nore am i a developer. But if i read the above article correctly it states the the Harmony Flashcart is supported, not a necessity. The part that is necessary is a bank switching method that is included in the Stella Emulator to run this game. Since Stella is ope...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

Nice to see ScummVM getting further releases for the MiSTer.

Hopefully this will run fine, too.

Re: Discover new content thread (Demos, mods, homebrew)

This Atari2600 "port" looks nice. Unfortunately the demo does not run on the MiSTer.

Re: How to install DE locale for virtual terminal

Good to know the options. But altering it every time the linux partition is updated is in my opinion not a good workaround. I am also not completely sure if it has a negative impact to some cores if the keyboard layout is changed for e.g. C64. At first look it is not, but i don't know about JiffyDos...

Re: Discover new content thread (Demos, mods, homebrew)

Next exciting thing to do in the MiSTer, besides Demos, you can play back "VGM Files"on the the YM2612 SoundChip of the Genesis/Megadrive. On https://project2612.org/index.php is a tutotrial how to rip your own VGM Files. You can also find a complete pack on archive org. To play the VGM Fi...

Re: How to install DE locale for virtual terminal

For those who are interested i have a temporary workaround which i can live with.
I saved a script in the scripts folder which executes "loadkeys de", which i start whenever i want to use the linux console.

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

I can confirm that "the Neverhood Chronicle" is running fine in ScummVM on MiSTer.
You have to put this files into the neverhood folder.
https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/blob/master/dists/engine-data/neverhood.dat

Would be nice if the joypad would work as a mouse pointer.

How to install DE locale for virtual terminal

Hi,

can someone help how to configure the DE (German) locale? I got the impression that the locale files are missing? If yes, can someone can point me where to find these and where to put them?

Regards

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

I would like to see ScummVM on the MiSTer. It's not like putting a NES emulator on the MiSTer. I find it also easier to use instead of DosBox to play the classics. There seems to be interrest on ScummVM, so why not. I like that there is a discussion on these topics, so i am pretty sure that the MiST...

Re: MiSTer Web Control demo

i thought is as like an equivalent of this. https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/recalbox-Manager-Web-Oberfl%C3%A4che-(DE) But yeah, most of this can be done/shown via menu core. So no need for a WEB GUI. Then again. If you don't want / can't go CLI, this might be an alternative, without hav...

Re: HDMI ARC issues

The DE10-nano is not a consumer product, so it lacks some features. Keep in mind it is still a developer board. Maybe this fixable via software, but i doubt it. Or Hardware mod maybe? Don't know that. Does the problem still occur if you connect the DE-10 nano to the AV receiver directly? I know it w...

I don't see this demo for controlling the cores, but how about file/rom transfer? For those who don't want to hassle/use scp and samba?
Or as GUI for the MiSTer.ini?

Is this kind of mod possible to implement on current MiSTer hardware regarding speed, fpga wiring, etc?
There is also the Super Mario World SA1 Enhancement.

These Mojon Twins and Radastan games have a very distinct and idiosyncratic look.
I once tested Sir Ababol. It looks nice, but could not get the hang of it to keep playing.

Re: Discover new content thread (Demos, mods, homebrew)

This mod looks and runs nicely. You have to manually set the core to Gameboy Color, but it's easier to rename the modded rom from .gb to .gbc. So no need to set the core.

Re: Possibility of Ports? Are they achievable?

Yeah true, it's commercial. And only arm port is the raspberry pi. There seem to be some open source pico-8 clones floating around and other fantasy consoles. Now i got struck with a really dumb idea. What about porting scummvm to the MiSTer. There are ports for Atari FreeMint m68000 and AmigaoOS4. ...

Re: Possibility of Ports? Are they achievable?

Gameduino never came to my attention. Looks OK.
The Pico-8 intrigues me because of the minimalistic approach. Be it the pixel look or the programming part. There seems to be a big homebrew and demo scene. I have no high hopes that somebody will port this. But i am glad i mentioned it.
