From what I've read it will be 1-2 months before the public release.

So that people who don't have the SDRAM can still run the core.

I have been working on a UI and Backend to download cores and change settings for the past 2 months, I'm starting with 320x240 for the UI so people can use with CRT's but there's also gonna be a wide screen version with more stuff being displayed. Here's a sample of it https://i.imgur.com/4CVTqvr.j...

There's a response from the X68000 author, which using Chrome's translate says: "I'm interested in DE10-Nano rather than MiSTER. This time I struggled to rewrite the FD emulation in hardware, but if it is possible to do disk emulation on the ARM side because DE10-Nano can use Dualcore ARM that ...

Re: Ghosts'n Goblins on MiST

I have seen it. It even happens during the demo. It happens when you press up and there is no ladder to climb. I think it is a bug in the Motorola 6809 cpu core. I have told the author of that core but he's pretty confident about his core and it is fair to say that just with that failure it is very...

Re: Scaler

@cacophony If you look at the changelog you'll see that most cores (including Genesis) have been updated with pll_hdmi_adj.vhd on Dec 31, so vsync_adjust=2 didn't do anything on the Genesis core back in Dec 26. Also, as Grabulosaure said, the convergence (synchronization) time is slow on other core...

Re: Scaler

I don't think it's actually working yet with vsync_adjust =2 and the release cores based on my testing and conversations with Grabulosaure. These were the instructions that I got from Grabulosaure on 12/26: "I have posted on temlib.org/pub/mister/ascal a version of SNES which blinks LEDs when ...

Re: Scaler

Are you sure vsync_adjust=2 is working now with all cores? I think you need the special cores by Grabulosaure to activate the low latency mode, the official cores do not support low latency mode yet, afaik. If I understood Grabulosaure correctly, the current implementation is triple buffered hence ...

Does the latest Genesis core use the low latency mode (vsync_adjust=2)? I'm not sure if vsync_adjust=2 will enable low latency mode. Last Wednesday grabulosaure helped me get a low lag configuration for SNES, and these were his instructions: "The low lag mode has issues with the default settin...

Re: Test Input lag: Megadrive vs MiSTer FPGA and also Megadrive vs RGB-Pi... Which one?

I agree with most of your sentiments but there is already lag free solution for most of the cores on Mister and that's the analog output. If input delay means that much to you (and it should if you're considering using Mister as a hardware replacement) then you shouldn't use the HDMI anyway. I'm su...

My hope is just to allow open and constructive discussions about possible approaches. I'd love a way to test the various USB adapters and controllers I have. Some may be worse than others. Maybe we need a controller test core, haha. For video there is the 240p test suite: https://sourceforge.net/pr...

So you already have three camps in this area, and whoever deals with this "lag" issue will never see the end of it because of people complaining for different things (from different goals and assumptions). My hope is just to allow open and constructive discussions about possible approaches.

Re: Test Input lag: Megadrive vs MiSTer FPGA and also Megadrive vs RGB-Pi... Which one?

The brain only tricks you into perceiving less input lag then there really is. The real reaction time is still longer with higher input lag and games which needs short reaction time like Punch Out will be much more difficult. it looks like you didn't read what you've quoted. In regular predictable ...
