Re: TI-99/4A on Mister (based on Speccery's)

The TI99 core for MiSTer works great, however there is no (yet?) disk support, so it's not possible to load and run TI BASIC or Extended BASIC programs. Fortunately, there is a solution for TI BASIC programs: convert them to modules using Classic99 emulator. :-) There is a tutorial on the TI99IUC si...

Re: Joystick testing thread

DOWN: Input event: type=EV_ABS, Axis=1, Offset=128, jnum=1, ID:046d:c21a:00, abs_min = 0, abs_max = 255 NEUTRAL: Input event: type=EV_ABS, Axis=1, Offset=128, jnum=1, ID:046d:c21a:00, abs_min = 0, abs_max = 255 so DOWN and NEUTRAL are the same? yes, it's correct. It seems that only if you move down...

Re: Joystick testing thread

I have tested a Logitech Precision pad (it has only the D-Pad and buttons) and it's not working correctly. During the calibration in MiSTer it seems that is generating analog stick events (it's asking for pressing DOWN). The Joystick ID is: 046d:c21a. The serial console messages for axis are: Input...

Re: TI-99/4A on Mister (based on Speccery's)

The format is listed here: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/TI-99_4A_MiSTer/blob/master/fpga/create-misterrom.cmd#L30 The current full ROM is 256+32KB long. The speech ROMs are the last 32KB. However, it's not terribly useful right now. The speech data is available to the TI-99, but the actual voice...

Re: TI-99/4A on Mister (based on Speccery's)

[ I've exhumed some old books to see if I can be of any help with the missing information: Thanks for sharing this valuable information. It's amazing how good the online available documentation regarding the TI-99/4a is [1,2]. There is even a recorded talk about the TI memory map[3]. The problem wi...

Re: TI-99/4A on Mister (based on Speccery's)

Is there already some disk support in the TI99 core? Sorry to curb your expectations here - I have pretty much the same questions as you concerning disk I/O support of the current core. GreyRogue mentioned disk support in his very first posting in this forum (referring to a diskdsr_4000_padded8k.bi...

Re: TI-99/4A on Mister (based on Speccery's)

Here is the output with checksums, so you'll be able to find the correct version and play it again The checksums helped to identify a culprit I didn't have on my short list - the 994AGROM-EP.Bin from the original greyrogue/ColecoVision_MiSTer repo. Replaced it with the standard 994AGROM.BIN and eve...

Re: TI-99/4A on Mister (based on Speccery's)

You really did an amazing amount of testing! To facilitate your work (and further testing) I just updated convertArchive. In version 1.9 the script now supports a -l parameter to generate a sorted, well formatted list of the cartridges generated, checksums and two additional columns for remarks, i....

Re: TI-99/4A on Mister (based on Speccery's)

Apparently not everyone in this forum is occupied testing the NeoGeo core :-) No, I've not tested the NeoGeo core yet, since I'm still playing Parsec with the old poor TI99... :-) Joking apart, I'm very happy that this core is available and I hope that it will receive upgrades and improvements (exp...

Re: TI-99/4A on Mister (based on Speccery's)

Is this the expected behaviour? Thanks for testing the pyTIrom convertArchive utility! The purpose of this utility is to convert whole directories of rom files. For this to work properly the files have to conform to a naming scheme - as explained in the README file. Please rename your input files t...

Re: TI-99/4A on Mister (based on Speccery's)

i am wondering how is status of speech rom of this core.. Anyone has news about it? That is a piece of information I'm also interested in since I updated my fullRom Python converter script. The new version can now convert whole directories of files - the 243 rom cartridges available for the Ti-99 t...

Re: TI-99/4A on Mister (based on Speccery's)

Hi, first, many thanks for the TI99 core for MiSTer. It was my first computer, so I really appreciated the port! I've tested my collection of games with this core (version 2019-02-16) and it seems that most of them are working fine (although I've not tested all of them intensively). I've found some ...
