Re: Direct Bluetooth gamepad support

When updating Linux with the script does it always require downloading the latest updater script file and uncommenting the line or is there a better way to go about it? Did you read the readme? https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Updater_script_MiSTer If there's something that isn't clear, pleas...

The updater can (if configured to do so) update Linux.

Re: Handheld MiSTer project

Following my daydream in another post, I think a clamshell design is better suited for a device like MiSTer which handles both retro consoles and computers. Something resembling a GPD WIN https://sc02.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1VJEZOVXXXXX_XpXXq6xXFXXXg/GPD-WIN-Game-Laptop-NoteBook-Tablet-PC.jpg_350x350.jpg ...

Re: Monitors supporting vsync_adjust=2

My wet dream is having a "custom" MiSTer with the motherboard rearranged to fit something like a GPD Win GPD Win is large enough to fit DE10-nano board. You will need to make a bottom cover deeper and of course you will need to adapt the internal input/output devices :) If I was able... b...

Re: Direct Bluetooth gamepad support

I'm also having problems getting any bluetooth dongles to work, I tried 3 (all report as being CSR devices). I am using a Inateck OTG Hub which is powered. dmesg shows it being plugged in: [ 319.000503] usb 1-1.1: New USB device found, idVendor=0a12, idProduct=0001, bcdDevice=88.91 [ 319.000515] us...

Re: Joystick testing thread

Universal solutions are usually full of compromises. While i like my K400r combo keyboard for MiSTer, i prefer other kind of keyboard for PC. Just usages are very different. At least for me. Probably you would prefer the K375S https://image3.mouthshut.com/images/imagesp/925914250s.jpg which is more...

Re: Direct Bluetooth gamepad support

same problem as K400plus - slim cursor keys. It may be not so important for generic PC use as mouse today has more work than up/down cursors keys. But for retro computers it's crucial. I don't recommend this keyboard. K400r has longer key travel than this MS keyboard. MS is more like notebook keybo...

Yeah, I love the Microsoft all-in-one media keyboard.
My goal now was having just one M+K combo which could switch back and forth the gaming PC and Mister just tapping a button.

People, take a look to Microsoft all-in-one media keyboard. It's really really nice, IMHO much better than Logitech K400 variants and uses a non BT wireless dongle like the K400. https://img-prod-cms-rt-microsoft-com.akamaized.net/cms/api/am/imageFileData/RE1mAyc?ver=b572&q=90&m=6&h=705&...

Re: Joystick testing thread

This is too exaggerated. Most keyboards are classic BT keyboards, especially those micro keyboards. I also have micro BT keyboard. It works fine. And it even quickly re-connects upon MiSTer reboot. So it has no problem like gamepads loosing the connection. But that BT keyboard is too reduced to be ...

Re: Joystick testing thread

I have a mini bkuetooth keyboard, would it work with the new BT dongle support or it needs a different driver than gamepads? Keyboard support is there, but it can be problematic as Linux Bluetooth in general. Modern BT keyboards tend to be BT4 LE and Bluez4 doesn't like that, so you need a BT EDR k...

I never advertise MiSTer supports Smart/LE devices. I never said you did. I shared my experience (giving some feedback), not saying you did something wrong or asking something. You need to use BREDR devices (classic Bluetooth). Well, yes. But with some tweaking I had some success with BTLE (but sad...

Bluetooth blues

My ancient Rome ancestors used the “Nomen omen” expression for someone/something with its own fate conveyed in its name… this is especially true for Bluetooth and this is my series of unfortunate events. As I wrote I bought an ASUS USB-BT400 dongle (https://www.amazon.it/dp/B00CM83SC0), a Logitech M...
