Re: Atari ST HDMI solution from The backofficeshow

Yes, but as I understand it, this is only a solution for low and medium res. It doesn't work for high res. If I'm wrong on that point and someone can confirm that it will work with high res, please pipe in.

Re: Atari ST HDMI solution from The backofficeshow

Hello, I'm the original poster of the referenced thread over on Exxos' forum. OK, first of all, I believe all that needs to be said about the device in general, has been said, so I'm not starting this up to get that going again. I did however tell everyone, including the seller, that I would check o...

OK, at least I wasn't missing something completely obvious. I thought maybe I was losing it.

Thanks for the info.

Re: What kind of format should we upload on Atari Legend?

I know this is an old post, and I hate to resurrect it, but I'm a little confused. I stumbled onto the atarilegend site by accident and, while it seems to have lots of information, I don't see any downloads anywhere. However, this thread seems to imply people are sending them images, which would see...

Re: Help getting my ST out of the attic and hooked up to a modern LCD monitor

I was really interested in one of the Goteks, but the more I look at them, I'm fairly certain it would require some case modification to use it in my old STf. Mine has the long, slanted eject button and there just doesn't appear to be room for everything without case modification, and I refuse to do...

Re: Dual output cable for low/high res ST video modes?

I'm only aware of VGA cables with a switch to change between color and mono for use with multi-sync monitors that can display all three resolutions. I haven't heard of any sort of cable like you describe. Of course, I'm in the U.S. and SCART cables and SCART compatible displays are pretty rare here.

MiST FPGA display question by FPGA newbie

I'm considering picking up a MiST FPGA and had a question. Initially, I thought this would be awesome way to be able to emulate several retro computers/consoles without tying my main computer up and giving me much more flexibility in relation to being able to use modern LCD displays. However, I've r...

Re: STf Keyboard Question

Stabilizer sounds about right.

I have two other keys that definitely have them. There are smaller stabilizers under the main Enter key and under the Left Shift key. And then those two unused grooves on my keypad, where it looks like there should be stabilizers, but there aren't.

STf Keyboard Question

I took my keyboard apart for some major cleaning and to replace the contact pads with the Best "TT" Touch Upgrade pads. As usual with keyboards, some of the longer/larger keys had little spring rods under them. However, several didn't. I'm hoping someone on here may have a had their keyboa...

Re: Help getting my ST out of the attic and hooked up to a modern LCD monitor

Well, I finally chanced powering on my old STF and the SC1224 monitor. They both worked, though the mouse didn't work in every direction. I'll need to check the solder joints on the mouse/joystick port. I also found out this baby is sporting TOS 1.0. I'll definitely need to update that to TOS 1.04 s...

Re: Help getting my ST out of the attic and hooked up to a modern LCD monitor

I'm still working on the rest.. real life getting in the way as per usual. I'm aiming for the "perfect" solution. Something that converts and looks like it's on an original monitor, one box (or two at max), and not for a three figure price. I really don't believe this needs that much cash...

Re: Help getting my ST out of the attic and hooked up to a modern LCD monitor

From what I've seen, very few of the modern monitors that work with the ST line actually list their frequencies going down this far. Why, I'm not sure. Maybe it's just that they don't actually test them down to these frequencies. If they did, and advertised that they worked with them, I'm sure it wo...

Re: Help getting my ST out of the attic and hooked up to a modern LCD monitor

I wound up caving and have decided to add yet a third monitor to my desk. I was really, seriously considering a SCART cable and a SCART to HDMI adapter, but then I realized that I actually had an STF, not an STFM (see, I told you it had been in the attic for a long time). I read about some issues wi...

Re: SWAPs - Abacus series of Atari ST books

This thread goes back a ways, but I thought I'd revive it. I've been searching for the GFA BASIC Quick Ref. Guide that was mentioned eartlier in this thread. While I haven't been able to find a real, printed copy of the book, I have located a pdf copy. Not my first or final choice, but I can confirm...

Re: Help getting my ST out of the attic and hooked up to a modern LCD monitor

Yes, I forget that Atari computers were sometimes more popular in Europe than they were here at home in the U.S. I should've mentioned that's where I'm from, so SCART is pretty rare. Yes, I just can't justify spending $200 or more for something like this and I'm definitely not looking to clutter up ...

Help getting my ST out of the attic and hooked up to a modern LCD monitor

OK, it's taken me almost 25 years, but I'm officially fed up with having my ST in the attic. I was always an 8-bit guy. The STs came out when I was in college and, as much as I drooled over them, I just couldn't afford one. I bought a used 1040STFM setup in about '94, but I've never really had a pla...

Re: ST Games based on D&D or AD&D?

The only officially licensed titles I am aware of being released on the ST were Heroes of the Lance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Dragons of Flame, Hillsfar, and Shadow Sorcerer. Pool of Radiance was advertised as coming soon, but was never released. Demon's Winter was an SSI fantasy game, but it was n...
