Re: RTC board

DigiKey part numbers for crystal CMR200T I found working is 300-8340-6-ND and I use the RTC chip M41T81 with number 497-4709-1-ND.

Re: RTC board

i found problem with M41T81S chip. After some time in power off it starts to show wrong date - several days behind the actual date. I don't know if there is problem with particular chip or any M41T81S will work this way. I have two other boards with M41T81 and MCP79410 - both keep time reliably. Th...

Re: RTC board

Are time and date supposed to be saved when powered off and be restored when powered on without internet connection? If so, it isn't working. Made 2 boards so far and none of them saves the time. When network cable is plugged in and I turn on power, date and time shows up in menu after a few seconds...

Re: I/O Board thread

The main power input to DE1-nano is 12V. I'll check if there somewhere to connect fan there.

Re: I/O Board thread

I've ordered Noiseblocker BlackSilent XM2: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/noiseblocker-blacksilent-fan-xm2-fan-40mm-3800rpm-fg-018-nb.html Only 14 db noise and 3800 RPM. Doesn't move as much air as the other one, but I don't think it matters. The chip isn't that hot. Datasheet says that this is a 1...

I tried the fan that gagadagatika recommended. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Much better when running on 3.3V. I'm just starting out on MISTer. Have assembled an V3.1R board today (horiz-inwards IIUC). Is there any public information about your plans for the future V4 io-board at this stage? I'm not asking for a timeline, just trying to gauge in what direction things will be g(r)o(w)ing... (with a big thank...

My setup using Zero4U USB hub. Got PCB for I/O board 5.2. Just waiting for components from DigiKey. Also found a micro USB to mini USB cable adapter on eBay I'm waiting for.

Re: Build Environment

It's always possible to use a VGA to HDMI adapter... not ideal but in the grand scheme of things, not having HDMI shouldn't be a bottleneck if you'd like to port or write a core ;) Problem is, most cores video output to VGA isn't compatible with most VGA monitors so an adapter probably will not work.

Re: RTC board

Question. Why are there 18 pins on the board connector when there are only 14 pins on DE10-nano? It looks like there are space on both sides so it probably doesn't matter. I'm just wondering..

Re: RTC board

It's strange that DE10-nano includes useless I2C accelerometer chip which is like 5th leg for dog. How they supposed to use accelerometer on board full of connected wires - it's pretty stationary device. They should include RTC instead which is pretty natural chip for such board. Since DE10-nano is...

Re: Add-on soldering talk and experience share

Hot air soldering is definitely much easier and faster then using soldering iron. First need to pre-heat the board to around 250 and then use the soldering paste syringe on all soldering points. Then place all the components. Turn heat up to 350 and guide the hot air pen along the soldering points. ...

Some real life connection :) menu_rtc.png Looks like my DE10 nano is broken. No HDMI output. I had picture for a while but with heavy flickering and way out of position. if you still have 8GB SD card coming with DE10-nano, then try to boot from it. It has Ubuntu with HDMI output. That's what I've b...

No signal at all there. The board is booting as it should. First blue light then yellow and a flashi...

I've ordered a hotair-flow tool for SMD soldering. https://www.velleman.eu/products/view/?id=435950 Also a flux pen and soldering paste syringes from digikey. Never done any SMD soldering only normal old fashion through hole. Found some nice tutorial videos on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

They are quite non-standard, I guess your only chance is that Aliexpress seller. Or I have some 3 or 4 left I could possibly spare one. Anyone has a link to seller of VGA connector used on Ver 2.6 board? Couldn't find any matching board on DigiKey.
The one linked to on Wiki page doesn't fit. It has 3 rows of pins but the board only has 2 rows.

Hi, I would like to order the 1 Vertical SDRAM board and 1 I/O board. Can't PM any of the sellers. Probably cause this is my first post. Will delete once order is done.
