Another element is the fill : <fill value="FF" upto="1FFFFF"/> It fills the output file with an arbitrary value up to a given offset. It is used to align bits in the address so address-based evaluations are easily done in hardware. Whats the difference to <part repeat="3328...

Re: FPGA Core that pushes MiSTer

You could install and run a stress test program on the Linux side of MiSTer. This will probably give you the highest possible temperatures.

The changelog from Jan 22 says: apply jspoll tweak to gamepad class Is this applied automatically to all gamepads and joysticks or is it necessary to enable it in the u-boot.txt file? Re: HELP WANTED: MRA file converter for MiST

Look for "MAME217RomsOnlyMerged" on archive.org for examples for merged romsets. A merged zip has the parent rom in the main folder and clones in the subfolders. Those subfolders do not contain the full romset for the clones but only the roms that differ from the rest of the archive. When ...

Re: Arcade cores

When creating *.mra files I always take a look at the MAME driver of the respective arcade hardware and I presume other *.mra creators do as well. CRC32 values of individual roms are very important to find out which roms (of a merged set) can be used to create a specific game described in MAME's sou...

Re: MiSTer frontend future

The *.mra files for arcade cores already contain some information that could be displayed in the info tab. But I agree that the current simple UI should be kept. The responsiveness of the MiSTer, along with its low input lag and accuracy, is one of the main advantages over emulators and should not b...

I want to report a bug in the Genesis core found by the user Sho on YouTube. Affected is (at least) the demo The Spiral : The MiSTer FPGA platform plays this demo with one minor bug. As of Genesis core "11/17/19", there is a glitch that will occur @1:07 -- the cyborg's color will change to...

I just updated the arcade cores to the latest version and fount out that the load rom option is no longer present in the core's menu (for example in the Crazy Kong core). It's not suddenly. It's when you first time use the gamepad in core. There is some problem with that message so part of it is filled with previous data which will be fixed. Okay thank you for looking into this. The other problem I have is that the message not only appears the first time I use the g...

MiSTer menu suddenly popping up

On my MiSTer setup I am encountering something that looks like a bug. It happens on all cores. When I play for a few minutes, a corrupted MiSTer menu pops up on the top left corner of the screen and then disappears after a few seconds. I say corrupted MiSTer menu because apart from the default butto...

In most cases it is stated in the *.mra file included in the releases folder.

example:

Re: DB9 Vs USB game control tests

How is this DB9 solution different than SNAC? That is already part of the main cores. What's SNAC? SNAC (Serial Native Accessory Converter) is a controller adapter that can be plugged into the User Port (Serial IO). It is explained here: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki/User-Port-(S...

no

Is it just that overlays are not implemented yet or is it a technical problem (for example with the framebuffer, that it would cause additional lag)? Some cores would really benefit from overlays (Vectrex and Arcade cores with bezel come to mind).

Re: Which cores have LLAPI support?

AFAIK only the NES core supports LLAPI. For other cores you need unofficial builds: https://github.com/MiSTer-LLAPI This means that you are dependent on others to update these unofficial builds whenever a new core update in the main repository is available. There is a risk that one day the unofficia...
