You can try Better Workbench.

Re: OneChipMSX core based on Kdl diskimage problem

The problem is that you did not create the VDH image properly. A BIOS file is required and must be the very first file written to the disk, even before any Windows created files. Use the archive "20190520 OCM-SDBIOS Pack v2.6 by KdL" from KdL's website which contains a batch file for writi...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Great, thank you! Virtua Racing is one of my favourite games and I never thought this would be possible on MiST. A seperate core just for Virtua Racing has the additional advantage that you can set a custom joypad mapping just for this game in mist.ini. I always hated to shift gears with the dpad wh...

Re: We must not forget to implement these British microcomputers of the 80s in FPGA

Speaking of the Memotech MTX, there is already a core for Altera DE1 (Cyclone II FPGA) with VHDL source (http://www.nyangau.org/rememotech/rememotech.htm) which could be ported to another FPGA. Personally, I'd prefer having more cores for Japanese computers, like Sharp X68000, Sharp X1, NEC PC-8801 ...

Virtua Racing contains a hidden test program that might be useful for debugging. Simply edit the rom at 0x201E0 and change the value 6610 to 4E71.

In the MiSTer version of the SMS core, there is an option to disable the border, so that everything around the visible screen area is black. It might be possible to port this over to the MiST core.

No, and it won't play Sega CD games either nor the normal Virtua Racing. The required hardware won't be implemented any time soon. Not even the mighty Kevtris who programs FPGAs all day for a living was able to pull this off.

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

I think it means you can have two different button mappings for the same controller and switch between them. It might be useful for some games where you want to have a specific button mapping that isn't useful as a general setting because it doesn't work with other games. I'd like to see a feature w...

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

With MiST it is possible to assign multiple buttons to a button on the gamepad. For example with the SMS core you can assign button 1 and 2 to button 3 on the gamepad which is useful in some games like Double Dragon where 1+2 is jump. That way you do not need to press two buttons simultaneoulsy but ...

Do you think you can also fix a bug in the current Donkey Kong core where Mario's feet have the wrong colour? They should have the same dark blue colour as his arms. Re: PCEngine core issues with roms?

Thank you for the update to the core. I'm not sure if this is a regression, but in F1 Circus '91 you can't get past the title screen.

Also it would be nice if the option to remove the sprite limit could be ported over from the MiSTer core.

The SMS Bios can be hacked to play the internal games instead of loading a cartridge. A hacked version of the US/European BIOS v1.3 (1986) that lets you play Snail Maze can be downloaded from here: http://www.smspower.org/uploads/Development/BIOS13.zip Likewise, you can hex edit the Japanese BIOS v2...

I get the same picture with the rom file you provided. As written before, your python script for building a rom doesn't work.

Re: Ghosts'n Goblins on MiST

Thank you jotego. This is a big step towards getting more advanced Arcade games to work.

However, your python script throws lots of errors.

Using the rom provided by you and the latest build of the core, there is a garbled mess in front of the screen so that you cannot see what is happening in game.
