HDMI, VGA and Sound

Hi, As mentioned time and time again by Sorgelig, HDMI is the MiSTer's default video out. Unfortunately, my LCD is VGA only and I've been using this connection until now, but I'm considering starting to use HDMI for compatibility purposes. My question would be, can I extract the video from the HDMI ...

So I did some work trying to get my favorite games to run in Ao486. I believe you're having too high expectations from this core... Ao486, despite his name, is more suitable as a 286 or 386SX computer, not a 486. Games until 1991 should be more or less ok, but after that it may be challenging for t...

Re: Filters for Scaler

Adding effects for imitating RGB phosphors patterns would be _far_ easier. And that is exactly the kind of filter I love the most, as many of these machines run on phosphor CRT's that gave the image a nicer look than those ugly blocky pixels we get from the LCD's. Scanlines are the "easy"...

Yes, the Joystick unscrews and then it's used to "lock" the lid in place during transport.

It's quite a clever design if I'm honest, but more appropriate for a Raspberry Pi, as I feel the MiSTer needs a keyboard.

Re: Show us your MiSTer hardware setup

Thanks. Yes I used a Dremel and a set of small diamond files. Use a small drill bit 1st then file square. use the cut off wheel for big stuff. Just go slow. The snes port is a usb controller kit from retro usb wired to a plug. Will add inside picture when i get chance. Thanks for clarifying that. W...

I have bought an aluminum box myself, but I'm still trying to figure out how to cut it.

Re: USB MIDI with Minimig/Amiga core

It did not take forever to load - just took forever to start. Also, if you think that's forever then you have never used a Commodore 64 with 1541 drive :) Got it. So it's a MIDI related "delay"... I knew the game never took this long to load without MIDI. As for the loading speed, I used ...

You may be misreading my intentions here...

It's not about wars, it's about helping uninformed users to take a decision.

I have both a MiST and a MiSTer... and love them equally.

Re: Core availability on the MiSTer

Hi, Just updated the core list on the main post. I believe we can finally say that MiSTer has surpassed the MiST. It has been incredible the traction that MiSTer gained in the last couple of months, and the scene is now throbbing with updates and flooded with new people. Not only the last big bastio...

Re: USB MIDI with Minimig/Amiga core

Now this is something... great to see Midi working on the 486 core...

Just a question, why did it take forever to load the game? Is is just my memory, or is it much slower than what it should be?

Re: Using an X-Arcade Tankstick with the Mist?

It connects via USB but is seen as a USB or PS/2 keyboard rather than a joystick. And that's exactly how it is supposed to be, because all X-Arcade joysticks "announce" themselves to the computer as being a Keyboard. That's how they are built. If you want it to be seen as a joystick, your...

Do you happen to know what the name (specs) of the barrel plug are for the DE10-Nano?

I'll try to find a cable on Amazon, but I have no idea how to check if its the right one.

I understand the whatever I choose, the positive needs to be in the center, but apart from that, no idea...

Re: MiSTer - Case Universal v5.2 - 3D printed

I do not know what soldering skills you are referring to. I/O-Board of MiSTer hast plenty of connectivity options. You will find 12v, 5v and 3,3v pins exposed. The fan has minimal power requirements. Of course a pin connector or something you crimp on has to be attached to the fan, but soldering I ...

Re: MiSTer - Case Universal v5.2 - 3D printed

I use a 40x40x20 fan with halfed voltage. The problem is that solution requires additional soldering skills (that I don't have) and it's not as plug and play as just swapping the fan. Just checked the price on shapeways and wow... 104€ for the case... Does the quality difference justify the price? ...

Re: MiSTer - Case Universal v5.2 - 3D printed

Hi NegSol, Just out of curiosity, did you ever figured a solution to use 80mm or 60mm fans in the case? I am now using my MiSTer quite a bit more and I'm thinking about 3D printing your model, but would like to use the latest version and (if available) one with support for larger fans. Also, do you ...

I am using an "Anker 60W 6-Port Desktop USB Charger" to power many devices at my desk (such as the MiST) and would love to use it as well for the MiSTer, instead of having another power brick laying around. Can I replace the power brick with some kind of adapter from USB to whatever MiSTer...

Hi,

Has anyone tried Amiga OS 3.1.4 with the MiST?

I understand that you also need to use a different Kickstart as well, and I am unsure if it is compatible with the MiST.
