Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Is the problem that the NTSC/PAL implementation is not fully known on the Genesis/Megadrive? I know the PCB's are the same with jumper switches defining if it is NTSC/PAL and for example on the NES it uses different chips and clock Crystal for NTSC or PAL. I spotted a Youtuber 'Gamehut' he was a Meg...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

This scene demo seems to use pretty much every trick in the book even undocumented transparency effects!

A difficult test for the Core! Plus the large cartridge size.

Re: BBC Micro

Regarding White Light I did pop over to Stardot. I went there with the problem ages ago, but checking back today it seems that the blank screen after dying/resetting in the game is due to a file being write protected. This has been fixed and it works on physical disks, however Hoglet (BBC wizard on ...

Re: ATART ST - How to get RGB/SCART

Solved - you need to create MiST.cfg on the SDcard.
As the MiST cannot create the file but it can write to an existing file.

Re: ATART ST - How to get RGB/SCART

It was the 'mono' setting. I changed it but I can't save Core settings?

Is there an Atari ST Core save file I am missing? I have a mist.ini on the SDcard already.

ATART ST - How to get RGB/SCART

Hi,

How do you get it to boot in SCART for use with CRT TV?
If I boot I get angled white/black lines, if I plug into a PC monitor I get a picture. But I would like RGB output
(thanks also for the recent Component Output, although I only have LCD TV's with that option)

Re: SAM Coupe core for MiST

Hi,

How does the Stereo SAM DAC on LPT1 work?

I tried the attached demo - astro2 It gives a list of sound options, if I select '4' which is Stereo DAC on LPT1 I don't get any sound out of the 3.5mm audio jack? The normal Sam sound chip works fine.

Thanks

@desUBIKado - can you attach the 'Pang only' disk please :D And if anyone has a good collection of converted Sam Coupe disks they could attach/upload... It is a nice system, we nearly bought one when our Spectrum died but... in the computer shop they had an AMIGA 500 (jaw drop!). Re: SAM Coupe core for MiST

@Sorgelig - I saw that you updated some of the Core parts (for MiSTER I think). I installed the Altera software and built a new Release from your sources and it works on my MiST. :D Remember I had issues (RAM timing?) with the last Core Release. To save you building the Core I could attach it to a p...

Re: BBC Micro

I tried Castle Quest and although it seemed fine there is a small horizontal white line that flashed on/off. Playing Arcadians there also seems to be a flashing white line at the bottom of the screen. And yes after say 1 minute of play the screen flickers as if sync is lost (this is on CRT TV) and t...

Re: BBC Micro

'Castle Quest' had the wrap around issue and it was fixed but I can't remember if it was on Mist or ZX Uno.

We need to see if the issue is back as it might be Core related. I can try Arcadians on my ZX Uno and see what that does.

Re: [C16 PLUS4 Core] update

Nice update! - I think my friend had a C16 (long time ago!) he only had a Black & White TV and the games I played were very basic. Would the C64 Core benefit from the updated 1541 & SD card emulation or does it already have it? I think Soreglig released the latest C64 Core which had the upda...

Nice work Slingshot :) Could you explain in some more details how to create a FAT image and copy the .MMB into it please. I have not heard of this before. It will be good to see if Empire Strikes Back & White Light now work with the updated Core and move to MMFS. I still have not got around to u...

Re: Amstrad CPC 6128/664 (NEW)

Great news on the CPC updates.
I wonder if the tape loading feature from the ZX Spectrum Core is easy to add (connects through midi connectors?)

This is a very impressive demo which streams from tape:

Re: Amiga/PCE etc cores and OSSC.

Not OSSC but great stuff is happening with the cheap (<€20) GBS-8200/8220 upscaler.

There is custom firmware which fixes loads of issues with the original Chinese firmware. You have to do a bit of soldering but the parts are cheap.

New AMIGA Audio engine - can someone build please?

Hello, I saw that someone recently rebuilt a new implementation of the AMIGA's Audio engine which has solved a few issues. Is it possible for someone to build a new Core using this audio engine with the latest MiST Minimig Core? Audio Engine file http://www.minimig.net/download/file.php?id=743 Forum...

Re: Flea Ohm Zero - FPGA AMIGA (Minimig) in a RPi-Zero-Formfactor

Congratulations on hitting your target! I don't know the tech details so this might not be relevant at all and you might have seen this, but the standard ZX Uno has a 8mbit SPI Winbond flash for Core storage. They have a menu that you can enter to change Cores. As with a lot of these things the code...

Re: Flea Ohm Zero - FPGA AMIGA (Minimig) in a RPi-Zero-Formfactor

Options are always good as I am sure you agree (within price / tech constraints). I am thinking of many setups where people (& me) have a VGA/DVI monitor and desktop PC speakers. HDMI to DVI no problem, but having or the ability to solder on a 3.5mm jack will open up more options to use the Flea...

Re: Flea Ohm Zero - FPGA AMIGA (Minimig) in a RPi-Zero-Formfactor

Great project Valentin, I am looking to back this. I have a MiST and ZX-Uno (Spanish FPGA device). A highly portable AMIGA and old skool PC Core have got my interest! ZX Uno only has 512kb as standard so that limits its PC Core (based on Next186). Question - is it possible to also get analog sound o...

Re: SAM Coupe core for MiST

I was going by this comment from Github, unless I am missing something: sorgelig commented Feb 28, 2017 All changes are in repository. Latest build includes HQ2x scaling and occupies almost all FPGA RAM and probably has more strict requirements for internal timings. Currently i don't know where is t...

Re: SAM Coupe core for MiST

Glad (but sorry) that others have tried and had issues. It is a shame this is now yet another Core which it is a lottery if it will work on your MiST. The previous Core version works? So what ever was changed has caused the issue. FPGA too full, SDRAM timing issues? We will probably never know. I co...
