Re: SMS core

Remember quite a lot of GameGear games have been converted to SMS format. I mean ROM hacks, not official SMS versions of GG games.

So you should get a better screen size. I love the GG Shinobi games.

I think the website is SMS Power which hosts the patch files (no ROMs).

Re: New minimig_mist-20190418 core

Don't worry about the DB9.
Maybe just add some clarification that CD32 pad buttons are supported on USB controllers.
I guess there are not many people with DB9 CD32 controllers.

Re: New minimig_mist-20190418 core

I upgraded firmware and put new Minimig Core on my SDcard. I did not change any config files from old Minimig. I tried my PlayStation to CD32 adapter (plugged into 9 pin dtype) and I could only get 2 buttons recognised. Maybe this updates is just for USB controllers and not the 9 pin d type connecti...

Re: MiST core and firmware changelog

I am not too familiar with what 'pull requests' are, so was firmware_190303 re-compiled & uploaded or is there still a new version waiting in the wings? (to solve the Minimig config issues). Thanks. retrofun wrote: A new compiled firmware is available in a pull request (see your linked thread) b...

Re: MiST core and firmware changelog

Hello,

I'm I correct that there is a new Firmware to fix the MINIMIG issues introduced with Firmware 190303 but a complied version has not yet been released?

Discussion on Firmware changes here:

Re: Acorn Archimedes

My MiST (v1.2) would seem a good test for max SDRAM timings. It would not run with the early Archimedes Cores (and MSX). So glad now that all Cores work on all MiST boards. FPGA devs (wishing I did Electronic Engineering, work has Graduate jobs advertised and mention FPGA & ASIC design....

Tip: You can use Atarimax 8Mbit Flash Cartridge Images with the Atari 800 core! Just download an image from https://www.atarimax.com/flashcart/forum/viewforum.php?f=4 , convert it to Atarimax 1MB Flash Cartridge if neccessary (i.e. by using emulator Atari800's cartridge management menu ("Creat...

Re: Acorn Archimedes

slingshot - your a machine 8) Thanks. Boot well, and my MiST is one that originally had problems with this and the old old MSX Core. I think there might be some joystick issues. Only using USB, but I loaded 'SWIV' and it seemed to go straight into the game in 2-player and both characters move straig...

Re: Acorn Archimedes

Ah, is that the issue. I have been trying slingshot's tweaked Cores with allsorts of riscos.rom files and just got black screens.
I have run out of time now, but I will try tomorrow with a blank 2gb SDcard and just this Core.

Slightly off topic, but really proud of this. A new teaser trailer for Pinball Dreams on the Amstrad CPC has been released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DetN_pol6g&feature=youtu.be It runs well on MiST, but you really need to play on a CRT. Here is a link to some playable demos: http://www.i...

Re: Acorn Archimedes

@slingshot - can you please attach a riscos.rom file you know works please. I have been trying the updated Core along with older ones and now I just seem to get nothing (black screen). It might be the Monitor? as I think the Archie resolutions might be a bit strange for normal VGA. I think there is ...

Confirmed with 1941 SGX. However look at the game in Core 181220b - look at the title screen 'Red 1' it has minor glitches.

Re: FPGA64 - C64

Thanks, I have a '3.5mm tape in' fitted into my MiST so I will try this. Regarding the tape in / UART development (across all Cores) any use of 'Motor Sense' or 'Pause Control' which are used on C64, MSX & Dragon etc (ZX Spectrum is nice and basic, just tape in :) ) should ideally be optional. M...

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem

I got some tapes loaded (once I found that you had to type 'BASIC' to get to tape loading options :) ), so many thanks for adding this feature. Some tapes got to the end and the MiST reset. Maybe because games are for MSX 1 and i think the Core is more like a MSX 2+. Is there anything that can be do...

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem

ManuFerHi - Thanks. I hope to try this tonight. 8) I guess because it will be missing the 'motor control input' (2.5mm jack), some games that Pause the tape at menu screens etc, will need some manual control on the CASDunio to PAUSE & PLAY. (A nice feature of the MSX and Dragon over the ZX Spect...

Nice lots of SID options now 8) To test them out, can someone upload a collection of dual SID .d64 demos/audio disks please. I have been finding lots of info on the various Dual SID devices for physical C64's but I am having difficulty in actually finding disks to try out these new features. Thanks

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem

Is there a way of loading tape images? In England tapes seemed more popular. There are lots of games from smaller companies rather than Konami etc. On my MSX 1 (HX-10) I use a CADdunio for 'on the fly' converting of .CAS tape files into audio for loading. Maybe the tape loading feature from the ZX S...

Ah, just remembered. I added the 'tape loading port' onto my MiST so I actually loaded a tape in.

Re: Request Dragon 32 / Coco 2 ON Mist FPGA

As a starter I would not worry too much about analogue joystick support. I use a converter on my Dragon64 to use normal 'Atari style' 9-pin joysticks and the games I played seem fine. Plus those analogue sticks that the Dragon and BBC mirco were pretty poor quality, give me a Competition Pro  O...
