Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Also reading the first post of the MiSTer updates thread does not hurt: I do not understand your comment (I think you have also become wrong of thread), further if you later no scolds to other users who report here the errors of this update of Minimig. R4MS pointed you to the fact the update thread...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Did you try to only use the 256MB fastRAM option? Moreover you could try to disable both turbo modes, which slows down access to the ram module. Use only 256MB fastRAM? It is not possible to use only fastRAM, the chip memory must necessarily be used. Disable turbo mode does not solve the problem ei...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

In spite of the changes and the effort made, we continue to experience some users of the 64MB modules, gliches and instability in Minimig.

Re: SDRAM board

1. I do not accuse anyone stupidly, I refer to the facts. 2. My merory is manufactured and works perfectly. 3. The real problem is the latest version of Minimig with the 64MB modules in general and is not just mine. I have no problem, I will continue to use my memory module with NeoGeo that works fi...

Re: SDRAM board

I am using an official XS 1.1 nodule with quality hand-welded 7NS type sdram (without hot air or oven) and I still have instability in Minimig and Archie cores. I still do not understand anything. 128MB with 4-layer should be easier to reproduce. Hand soldering not automatically means high quality....

Re: SDRAM board

Ricardo uses -7 while i use -6. Result between us is the same or if there is a difference then meaningless. Sorry, but that's what I'm saying: The 7ns version works fine on the XS1.1 and the 6ns version fine on the XS2.2 But this doesn't mean that the 6ns version is working fine on the XS1.1 Before...

Re: SDRAM board

I've just released Minimig with improved timings. I'm quite confident in the phases i've set for 64MB and 128MB modules. I've tested myself and it's also tested by Ricardo Saraiva in whose quality i don't doubt. Since we got the same phase ranges regardless we soldered separately from each other, i...

Re: SDRAM board

Today i've soldered SDRAM XS module with 64MB SDRAM chip AS4C32M16SB-7TCN. And it passes 160MHz! Even on 167MHz it produces only 4 errors in 30 mins. Although it's 7ns chip. There is really some magic in Alliance Memory chips! some time ago i've tried other 64MB chip - ISSI IS42S16320D-6TL. Althoug...

Linux LXDE no longer work

For several updates of MiSTer the LXDE desktop has stopped working. https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki/Desktop-Linux There was an update 20180502, but then nothing, it's as if it had been discontinued. It is a shame that this is lost :( although we hope that everything will be fixed. T...

Re: Menu core backgrounds whitout fb_terminal or vga_scaler

It is simply an idea and anybody can you tell me if it is possible or not. To activate the framebuffer that this allows, among other things, to display the wallpapers, you must activate the console (necessarily) with the parameter: fb_terminal = 1. This I think would be easy to solve if there were t...

Menu core backgrounds whitout fb_terminal or vga_scaler

I work with CRT 15kHz and HDMI monitor at the same time but only occasionally and before, I could enjoy the beautiful core menu backgrounds (F1) that always saw on the latter but now the main core forces me to activate the console to be able to enjoy these backgrounds which forces this same time to ...

The only time I had an issue like this was with a specific cable. I switched cables and it was all good. I tried with different cables too. Actually, I have the problem with three HDMI-VGA adapters that used to work in MiSTer and not now. These adapters continue to work perfectly on my Rasperry Pi ...

No HDMI signal

I had never had a problem with this before, I have even been using several HDMI to VGA adapters until yesterday. The problem seems to be that the DE10-Nano board for certain TVs / monitors or converters from HDMI to VGA has stopped emitting enough video signal, before I had no problem with any of th...

Re: (Poll) Most wanted new MIST cores: FINAL ROUND

PC-XT, of course.
If ZX-ONE almost has it, MiST should have it already.
It does not need a very fast memory to run the core to many MHZ, PC-XT only needs 10 MHz.

The latest version gives me problems accessing the disk.
I went back to the previous version.
I am one of those who have the original RAM.
