Re: Acorn Archimedes

What's the best way to get this to boot? Can't get the very last two cores to boot at all into RGB. The older cores did work after about 5 or more tries. Holding down the 0 numpad key - I don't have a VGA to test on. Particular ROM version required? Running 3.10 here - I think. Update : First tip is...

Any possibility to get the Williams arcades converted or is there an issue on the MiST?

Re: Acorn Archimedes

Wonderful work slingshot! I never thought this would work on the MiST but another triumph. Looks great on my RGB Scart Sony CRT, using the keypad 0 trick. Being playing Lander non-stop. Here's a video I captured from my CRT, poor quality capture device but it gives the retro spirit to the game.

Re: Sinclair QL

seastalker, attached is "Space Pods". Not much interest to anyone else but for me it's the first program I wrote as a young teenager I got paid for. Sadly this QL core runs too fast - about 3-4x. I'd tried in vain to figure out the timing to get it running at the original QL speed but coul...

Re: Ghosts'n Goblins on MiST

Looks great on RGB SCART. Thanks for this work. Can't wait for the other related classic arcade cores too!

Reds look a little brown, on RGB, but that seems to be common in many cores.

Re: Ghosts'n Goblins on MiST

jotego, I'll donate you the price of an RGB/SCART cable - let me know where to send it. Would love to see all these cores with RGB support. Guess you're in Spain and Amigastore.eu has the cables and is in Spain.

Superb work as usual slingshot, thanks. Great to see the MiST having such a great version of the PCEngine. So many great cores on the MiST! 8)

Re: PCEngine core issues with roms?

Oh yes, it now uses the standard mist.ini now so it defaults to VGA. Holding down middle button (or setting mist.ini) defaults to CRT and the menu appears. It must ignore the old FPGAPCE.CFG file.

Thanks slingshot, it's looking great!

Thanks Higgy, I didn't have a keyboard attached and was pressing the middle MiST button - but that doesn't appear to work as usual.

Does this need special SD card formatting? Can't get it to work on 16GB SD with FAT32.

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

jotego, is there a download for the 0.52 version. I think the one at https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-bina ... es/fpgagen is 0.51. I'll do some more testing when I get the later version.
Thanks for your amazing work on this FM beauty, it sounds incredible.

Super Street Fighter II graphic glitches are gone with fpgagen-20181109.rbf but the music and sound still has issues and is very quiet with this game.

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

fpgagen_20181028 is working great! Image is now centred on my Sony CRT RGB and I can't hear any issues with the music anymore, like there was in Aladdin & Ghouls 'n Ghosts. Wow! :D I have had the occasional blank picture on startup with sound but can't replicate it. There's also some glitching i...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Haven't noticed the shift to the left on other cores on my Sony Trinitron CRT. fpgagen-beta_20181021.rbf still has the slight shift to the left but I wouldn't call it an issue and I don't have a real megadrive to compare to. Comparing it to Retroarch on my RPi using an RGB SCART interface (rgb-pi.co...

Re: [ZX Spectrum Core] New Update

Thanks MasterOfGizmo for the answer. The problem with it is that instead of the usual, for example pressing key '1', press you get keydown 1, release you get keyup 1. In game layer mode pressing '1' you get keydown 'a' & keyup 'a', release '1' you get keydown 'b' & keyup 'b'. It's probably n...

Re: [ZX Spectrum Core] New Update

I was hoping to add "Recreated ZX Spectrum Keyboard" support to this core but I think the USB keyboard support is in the MiST firmware that would need changing not the core itself. This keyboard, in "Game layer" mode replicates the ZX keyboard exactly, like Symbol Shift, Caps Shi...

Re: Newbie MIST peripherals

Agree with Drog, I use a Sony 14” CRT with RGB SCART and it looks stunning with the cores. LCD just can’t match it for retro. You should be able to pick one up cheap, they’re so well made they last for decades. It’s picture is very close to a PVM.

Future proof (I am told that MIST boards will not be manufactured anymore) None of these boards will be future proof. MiST is still produced and has a number of active developers (which has recently picked up again). MiSTer is still a sort of kit board although it is a very nice FPGA. It also depen...

Arcadians looks fine to start with then randomly during the game the graphics get corrupted. There's also a few games where the video wraps round the edge of the screen, only a few games and I can't remember what they are - will need to check again.
