Re: Discover new content thread (Demos, mods, homebrew)

Hi!

Found a nice easter egg at the end of the Black Mirror episode 'Bandersnatch'. There's a QR code in it which directs to the link below:
https://www.tuckersoft.net/ealing20541/
Converted the audio to .tap and attached it with some screenshots.

Re: Help! How do I prevent the display being stretched when connected to a 16:9 display over VGA?

You can't use an HDMI (from Mister) to DVI (to monitor) cable? my friend use this cable and is perfect It depends on the exact type of the DVI connector and the cable's pinout: DVI-I means 'integrated', combines digital and analog in the same connector; digital may be single or dual link. DVI-D is ...

I use a small lunchbox bought in a local clothing store (KIK). Gonna upload pictures if you are interested (it was very cheap and the board fits (near) perfectly).

Re: VGA => composite to a CRT TV without scaling?

If you mean the GBS-8200, mine accepts everything between 5 to 18 Volts, but I don't recommend this converter... It's firmware is a piece of cr@p, has poor compatibility in aspect of non-standard input signals, and adds lag (it has a frame buffer).

Re: VGA => composite to a CRT TV without scaling?

... Looks like the IO board should have the outside of the socket grounded, so I think it should be fine. ... The problem is not the IO board, but cheap cables! I saw some examples the shielding was not soldered to the outside of the socket, and the same was true in aspect of RGB GNDs (pins #6-8) ....

Re: VGA => composite to a CRT TV without scaling?

... Hey DrOG, I'm splicing the RGB connector from the converter (smaller connector?) into a VGA cable. I'm going to connect it this way to the VGA port on the IO board once I have it completed. Re: VGA => composite to a CRT TV without scaling?

I have an external MOLEX psu (see attachment), noname, but works perfectly. I use a homemade converter wire (the power cable shipped with the card soldered to a MOLEX male connector's GND and 12V lines). I have a GBS-8200 as well, that's fed by the another GND and the 5V lines...

Re: [C16 PLUS4 Core] update

New Core doesn't sync image in progressive mode (720 x 576 50p) with component cable. Only 50i works. Previous core works in both modes (50p and 50i). I can confirm this, my picky LCD TV does not sync to current (20190502) core neither in progressive nor in interlaced mode via component cable. Prev...

@ slingshot : You're right, I cannot say a good reason... But why not? @ nippur72 : Didn't try it until now, but I'm going to test the file during this weekend as the VIC20 core has now .tap (and I assume .wav) support. I suppose my biggest problem is the too low volume of my Chinese smartphone, but...

Further progress... I found the reason of the LOAD ERRORs: it was the AVPlayer I used... The one marked with red on attachment #1 is not good for the C64 core, although works perfectly with Spectrum and Amstrad cores. The another one, marked with blue works well with C64 core, even in cases the wav-...

Re: MIST C64 core

@DrOg: Yes, the SAVE is implemented but the signal comes out of the normal audio channels, not from UART_RX ("EAR" in the MiSTica). If you have "Tape sounds: On" and do a SAVE command, then you should definitely hear something from the speakers. Well, I didn't hear anyhing, and ...
