Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!

You're getting a rolling picture with composite_sync=0 because that's sending an RGBHV signal instead of RGBS which is what most professional monitors are designed to accept. You'll need a sync combiner. Some people get away with connecting the separate H and V lines on the in and out sync connecto...

Re: MiST core and firmware changelog

What affect this option ? csync_disable=0 ; set to 1 to output separate hsync and vsync in 15khz If you have a 15kHz monitor which doesn't like composite sync, then set it to 1. However now only the new Minimig and MiSTery cores support it. Thanks for implementing this useful feature on both firmwa...

Yes, it's worldwide unlike the SCART which is common in Europe only, and can transmit progressive picture as well (SCART is for interlaced video exclusively).

Re: MiST VGA Compatibility

I don't recommend Gonbes GBS8200, it has compatibility issues with PAL signals. If you want a cheap 15kHz->HDMI converter, I recommend to use something like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33004710132.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.5d255b07E7d5Ba&algo_pvid=df0e0ae5-31a5-4c56-9e59-1eafd8ba3...

Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!

Only a few VGA monitors (called multisync) accept interlaced video signal, here's a list of those:

Try 31kHz HSync, it's more compatible and should work fine.

... I wouldn't say the 2600 core works great, it really is spotty for game support over HDMI at least some games just won't display anything... In case of 2600/VCS console the properties of the video output (resolution, refresh rate) are determined by the ROM you use, so depends on the software ins...

Download is sometimes problematic on GitHub if you use the 'Download' button. Try 'View Raw' instead, it's more reliable. This issue was discussed earlier in another topic:

Re: [SOLVED] Scart output color issue on my Sony Trinitron TV

Excuse my ignorance but is it preferable to solder the 1k resistor via the scart connector or VGA connector end of the cable? Thanks in advance! (Would be interesting to see if there are any prebuilt scart breakout boxes with potentiometer adjustment for sync line...). The localisation of the resis...
