Re: Graphical glitches in 3.9.3 linked to "Wake up" state

First of all it's not my fault if edgy programmers display wakeup-dependent pictures! It's a serious problem on real hardware too. On the one hand, people tell me it should be in such state for games, on the other hand, other people tell me it should be in such state for demos. If you check the cur...

Re: Graphical glitches in 3.9.3 linked to "Wake up" state

To clarify, Steven, I read on other threads that you fixed the audio, and that's to be commended, but then you go ahead and make it necessary to select wakestates, when before we didn't have to bother with that at all. Why did you fix one thing and break another? I don't care if the change was to ma...

Re: Graphical glitches in 3.9.3 linked to "Wake up" state

It's been several days now and I've used 3.9.3 with a lot of issues now, related to demos and the "wakestate", I find they no longer work as they did under "ignore", with several glitches and so forth and I don't know which wakestate works best with them, and I don't want to have...

Graphical glitches in 3.9.3 linked to "Wake up" state

I'm testing 3.9.3 on this demo: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=65921 I usually use this demo when testing new versions of SSE, and I am disappointed in the graphical glitches that appear in some still images (like the opening boat on the sea) until I select an item in the "Wake up" di...

Re: Steem SSE 3.9

Only just today discovered that Steem SSE has been updated! Better audio, yaaay! Steven, what do you know about the 2715x1527 50hz imposed on my Fullscreen resolution settings? Is that a Steem alteration or is it just my Nvidia card trying to make things look better? It just seems like overkill on a...

How do I use a .cfg within the Hatari folder (over all others)

I am using Windows 7, and I would prefer to use a .cfg file within the Hatari folder as default, so how can I do this?

Does Hatari refer to the Registry at all?

How can I make Hatari portable?

Re: Volume control disabled for both AY and PCM audio?

The fade-outs I'm referring to are in the video linked from "video" on the main demo link posted above. These are the points in the video, which should match emulation closely: 00:40 Credits and robot voiceover 05:22 Last picture of hand-pixelled slideshow 07:45 End of digitised slideshow ...

Volume control disabled for both AY and PCM audio?

I've been trying out 3.9.0 and for the most part I am glad that all the clicks in the audio have disappeared, as well as lots of little improvements. However, I tried this demo ( http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=59066 ) and compared to the video of real hardware, the sections using both the STE P...

Re: Using long filenames for GEM or equivalent

The problem I had was that I have a whole set of Atari ST disk images and direct TOS and PRG files that run from folders, and I had to rename the folders to long names to be consistent with all my other old-school computer files (which almost all use Windows to select files and folders), and to make...

Re: Using long filenames for GEM or equivalent

That's no good to me, Eero. The main reason for my ST emulation is to run demos, especially STE ones.

Also, how can I run MiNT and "suitable unix command tools" in Windows 7?

Using long filenames for GEM or equivalent - SOLVED

I'm using Steem SSE and I'm eager to find a replacement or add-on for GEM that will allow me to use files and folders with long names.

I hear that MagiC is a good contender, but I'm having difficulty setting it up.

Can anyone advise me on this?

Re: Example of clicking with PCM samples

I hope you don't mind, but can you check the volume as well, please? This program ( http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=65921 ) runs from the hard disk this time, but there's a discrepancy with the volume fade in/out on the screen with the boat, waves and seagulls cawing, compared to the YouTube vid...

Re: Any chance of supporting software-controlled sound volume changes?

Oh, I do beg your pardon, I guess I should RTFM. I have to admit, I never had an STE myself (just STFM) and I wasn't clear on how the enhanced graphics and sound worked with the stock ST hardware, but lately I've been impressed by STE Demoscene productions, and it is these that I'm running mostly on...

Re: Any chance of supporting software-controlled sound volume changes?

I didn't have it checked, but tried it just now (running 3.8.2 now, forgot to mention) and it sort of helped a bit, but I wasn't actually sure what the option did. What about the clicking? It was absent in Steem 3.2 but I don't know what's causing it here. I've tried tinkering with every setting, to...

Any chance of supporting software-controlled sound volume changes?

I've used Steem SSE 3.8.1 for a while and I've noticed that there seems to be no means for programs that are running to control the volume of the PCM audio of the Atari STE, so every time a program fades in or out a sample's volume, it just doesn't happen. Older versions of Steem used to be able to ...

Clicking audio with PCM samples in Steem SSE 3.8.1

I have audio issues when it comes to this version of Steem SSE, where when the STE's PCM chip is used to play a sample, there is an audible click at the start and end of playback, and I cannot find a way to turn it off in the Sound settings. Can you help me?
