Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

Success! I re-flowed the pins and now it works.
It takes 5 secs to get to the desktop without floppy connected. I hope that doesn't mean the controller is dead.

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

Ok, drive is out and i see no change.
Reflowing the pins gives me some hope, yes I 'll try that!
By the way, my mistake, the delay is more than 2 seconds.

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

I did find my custom made vga cables, both mono and multisync, and i have a crystal bright screen in low and hi res using those cables. It boots in 2 secs I guess thats because no disk drive found. I didn't have the time to unplug it, that will be done tomorrow. Menus are working, no disk icons but ...

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

it sounds like something is trying to force low res and crashing when in hi. Yes, this is what it does. No hard disk on. Also my psu is recapped and works fine under load. The floppy drive started making funny noises thats why I hope maybe its just the floppy that failed. But still, maybe its the c...

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

Having a game disk insterted it keeps on rebooting as soon as detects the res mode. Pressing the switch it boots to hi res (so I only get the intro text and of course reboots as it should). The funny thing is, on plain tos, when I boot on hi res(using the switch) after some seconds it reboots to low...

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

I had problems connecting the adapter to my nec 1970Nxp. No floppy inserted it boots on hi res and after some seconds, for some strange reason, reboots to low res. Having a game disk inserted doesn't stop rebooting every 2 secs. In the end my floppy died, i have no icons on my desktop (i guess due t...

Free 2.5MB RAM Expansion (MMU type)

Free to give to someone who is going to do something with it. I bought it from ebay years ago and I have no idea if it's actually working. I would strongly recommend some of exxos' memory expansions though.
I can send it anywhere (don't mind the postage cost-on me).

Re: Assembled list of LCD/CRT VGA monitors supporting Atari low/med res

this one: ? http://15khz.wikidot.com Nope. For example LG 1921a on my desk does not display low/medium over VGA. And its listed. The point is to have list of verified ones.. My LG1921A does very well low/med res, but giving jail bars on hi res. Otherwise it would be the perfect Atari monitor for me...

Re: Atari Falcon advice

I had some issues installing Magic on my Falcon. Some weird German error messages during the boot sequence(not always). At first I thought it had to do with hw or hd driver/cf card compatibility...I really can't tell. Never had issues on my ST though. I remember installing VanillaMint and feeling so...

Re: Atari Falcon advice

Get HD driver or PP driver, I don't think you should mess with other drivers than these. I spend many hours trying old stuff for nothing.
Then install NVDI and VanillaMint is the way to go!

Daniel from NewBeat is one of them. He has also done some research about your questions. Or exxos of course.

Leech, if I were you I'd be annoyed as hell. That SV should have been tested and confirmed as working, as far as I know you paid a damn high price for it. So true... I feel sorry for your trouble and all. So mzry, what exactly should we be annoyed about here? This is not a PCI Express card in a PC....

I also have error message about the temperature readings when I boot up. But it's not always, and when I use higher MHz I get this error message more often. But the readings seems to be quite accurate, I get around 58°C when I push it really hard. But I have a heatsink with a fan. Me too! I have no...

Netsurf is the best browser around but you can only use it as text only. Except if you are one of those lucky SV or CTPCI owners. It is reported slow rendering images even on CT60 Falcon machines though.
Links browser isn't bad.
