Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

"There are many contributors to the core now and Alexey -from Mister- is helping too so rather than a fight between platforms, it looks like we are holding hands moving forward. " Perhaps the most beautiful and welcomed sentence I've seen all year, ANYWHERE!! May all cores benefit in the s...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

DannyPPC - yes thank you on Shadow Dancer! That 3 button mode did the trick! The sound glitched midway through the game but not too bad. Haven't played in a while and made it to final boss on my first game with no continues... I nearly beat him, then I had to use all my continues. That's ok, I won y...

Very nice to see a Ti-99 core! I don't have a Mister yet but check to see what might one day port over to Mist. :)

Re: PC Engine core

I saw this core played with on YT. The Mist core is also good but the menu could use some updating. Is anyone working on a Mist version of this core? Theoretically, would the SuperGrafx part be possible on the Mist?

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Trying the new core (fpgagen_20181028.rbf). It is amazingly good! Trying to do my part testing some games. Most the sound and picture are just as I remember. I did have some issues I wonder if others have: Mystic Defender - Won't load - black screen and it is a good rom working elsewhere. Rambo III ...

Just wondering: Has there been any news on this core or is SMS functionality more like to be added to the MD/GEN core?

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

slingshot, I promise you I have no complaints about quality- quite the opposite. I am excited at how fast this core is progressing and I'm just trying to keep up. :) The work is fantastic and I always like to check the temperature of the experts with great comparison knowledge of the cores vs origin...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

What is the latest revision number - fpgagen-beta_20181013.rbf ? Is it in the community the current best be it beta or not? Sega systems are perhaps my most desired FPGA cores, and if any are near perfect, a single little tear of joy forms in my eye.

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Admittedly I don't know all the technical information about it but had a thought as to the debate of the linear vs non-linear dilemma [See MasterofGizmo's "Expanding 4 genesis bits to 6 MIST bits that way causes non-linearity." discussion] I know it's not exactly the same, but as I don't m...

Re: [ZX Spectrum Core] New Update

So if a mist .ini file is edited, then it may work. I'd have to really dive in on the Speccy, but if I create one for myself, I'd certainly share it for the other small group of us.

Re: [ZX Spectrum Core] New Update

I use my Recreated ZX Spectrum Keyboard with the Raspberry pi3 but more recently use it via usb with the Mist. Admittedly, having not grown up with a speccy, being able to navigate menus, launch a game and even find buttons to move the player character around is not 100% proof all is functioning as ...

Mega 65 and the Commodore 65 core possible?

The Mega 65 website at http://mega65.org just got a lot flashier. There are major updates for those interested. For those unaware, the Mega 65 project is to finally bring to life the Commodore 64 successor, the C65 [which exists as an extremely expensive collectible prototype] via a FPGA recreation ...

Side 2 Cart firmware update woes and other hiccups

New Side 2 and U1MB (Not installed yet.) My Sandisk Ultra 16GB CF card at 50mb/sec is not supported for some reason. I've heard to only go with SanDisk so I'd be happy for suggestions of the biggest and fastest CF card that the Side 2 supports that will hold the A8 library. I have a small 125MB card...

Thanks again Sorgelig! I think I get it - for FAST load you load BEFORE hitting Tape Loader, and if you want to watch a few films and have lunch, one can reverse the order. ;)

Re: Please help- simple command in ZX Spectrum core

Strange... now my tape loading is the OPPOSITE as before: I now must select a .TAP file from the OSD BEFORE selecting "Tape Loader." Is that a core change? Also, @Sorgelig, any chance that file you linked could be restored to download a backup copy? I wish to review it because now I can't ...

Thanks hyperterminal. I will try that. Re: Do you select scanlines in settings when using a real CRT?

I have disliked scanlines when early emulators used artificial looking ones in the earlier days. They have gotten better, and now I use them with Retroarch on modern lcd screens with a slight pincushion effect and it 'feels' better to me. Interesting perspective about using them for 31khz CRTs but n...

Re: TRS-80 Model I/II/III/IV core possible?

Hmm - let's say I have a path like this in my root SD: SOFTWARE/Sample Games/env.cas at the VERY start, if I type CLOAD or SYSTEM, in both scenarios I get a quick flash of a "?SN Error" and immediate return to the Ready prompt. If I FIRST hit enter to seemingly enter its BASIC mode. NOW, t...

Re: [ZX Spectrum Core] New Update

For Hyperspin, I have 384 title collection in T80, and I have a large 4828 'Best Of' made from the majority in Z80 and TZX and some in DSK, TAP, and ROM. How big of a Speccy collection do users of this core work with? Are they mostly .TAP files using the core's fastload? Seems that is a good way to ...

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem

Maybe this is working TOO well now: anyone have trouble getting the MSX to 'let go' of a game?? I got it to boot to the MSX3 screen, and in the blue DOS (?) screen I type "dir" and then "cd \roms" and then "romload frogger". If I hit f12 to the menu and select 'save and...

Do you select scanlines in settings when using a real CRT?

Simply put: Do you select scanline settings when using a real CRT? Could be MiST or other devices with scanline options, but I wonder who is of the camp that decides a CRT is enough (disables all settings added scanlines) and who prefers to add the additional filters. Maybe some of you just go core ...
