Re: SDRAM board

Hi Sorgelig,

Just to confirm XSD version 2.4 layout of pin 9 and 10 (on the 20x2 header), DQ14 and DQ15 are inverted compared to XS 1.1 and 2.2. Is this correct?

Quartus compilation

Hi, I have noticed that the latest core updates pushed on the git repository have a consequence on the quartus compilation flow (at least on my computer). The compilation stops after the "Quartus Prime Analysis & Synthesis" step. The sys library with pll code is here but not taken into...

MiSTer kernel, NFS support

Hi Sorgelig I am using NFS with MiSTer for quite a while now. I am used to compile a separate kernel with unique purpose to have the NFS support enabled. Would it be possible for you to consider enabling the kernel NFS support in upcoming releases? The required defconfig is a single line. Thank you....

Re: MiSTer updater script

Hi Locutus73, Here is a way to handle the Linux rootfs update. I am using the following steps on Mister and never experienced an issue. 1/ copy linux.img to linux.img_new 2/ delete linux.img 3/ rename linux.img_new to linux.img 4/ reboot With these 4 steps, the FS integrity is ensured and the OS not...

Linux use dedicated event thread per device. Two mice are recognized as two independent devices. No issues from the Linux side.

Re: MISTer Ethernet (not so) strange behaviour

if anyone care, then would be good to find out why MiSTer asks for 2 IPs. I have no time for this investigation. Seeing cascading DHCP request is not an issue as per say. It can be related to two distinct queries made during the boot process. One from uboot and one from OS or as seen on standard PC...

Re: MISTer Ethernet strange behaviour

Try ifconfig without parameters in MiSTer console. This will show what IP address MiSTer get and gateway IP. Basically it should work without any special settings. Is there only one MiSTer connected to the LAN? DE10-nano has no EEPROM with MAC address, so bootloader sets the fixed MAC address 02:03...

I got it up an running. A few games I have tried seem to play ok for a while but then controller quits responding (but sill worked in OSD) and the game continues to run. This happened In games Jim Power, Final Fight, Shadow of the Beast and at least one more. Anyway, nice job and thanks! I am not h...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

I think, the pixel on the boot screen was the shift from right part (it was changing when diskette was moving) which i've just fixed. It was indeed blinking in sync with the floppy animation. I confirm that the few games in which I have experienced the column offset issue are now properly displayed...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

The pixel was always there. It was also present on MiST minimig core. So not really related to the new built. Sorry NegSol but it is not the behaviour I have experienced through the different releases of the Minimig core. With version 20180519 the pixel artefact on boot screen is not present anymor...

Re: Support for symbolic links inside MiSTer

:D It is true that exfat does not feature symlinks. Nevertheless, Linux exfat allows to have this kind of fancy thing. If I forget about symlinks and use mount to rebase a directory on top of the exfat partition then browsing directory and loading file work great. I have noticed that (e.g. for minim...

Support for symbolic links inside MiSTer

Hi Sorelig, I managed to have NFS share mounted on my system. I have observed that symbolic links (ln) to other directory are not visible inside the menu. Re: Major update for MiSTer

Yes, I am speaking about kernel 4.5 from your repository. The issue was related to the .config file not being the latest one. I was using de10-nano_defconfig from this forum. Now I use an extract from your kernel dated Feb 15 (in attachment). Here are the steps I use for the compilation and dtb conc...

Re: Major update for MiSTer

I update the sources regularly. You can see the change log in kernel repository. Hi Sorgelig, I need a clarification to the process to get a kernel able to launch MiSTer. I am stuck at bad init sequence because no mtd is discovered when the kernel is launched. I can compile the kernel (with duplica...

I found out the fan works when powered by 3.3V (spec. is 5V) with lower RPM (although it is not advertise...

Re: MiST VGA upscaling experiments

V Also, i've discovered, the same cable can be used for RGsB (Sync-On-Green) connection and it doesn't require any change in core. Since transistor does H+V mixing, both RGBS and RGBHV will turn into RGsB signal with this cable. Hi Sorgelig, Thank you very much for the work. Is it possible to inclu...

it's all configurable at core level... maybe we need an INI setting to say if we want CSYNC or HSYNC/VSYNC when the scandoubler is disabled I would also love to see such feature coming to all cores because some arcade monitors have separated H and V inputs and not all accept CSYNC on H input.
