Re: CosmosEX v2 SCSI MegaSTE HELP!

I hope there are some coding users who want to improve the drivers. That is really what is needed now. Getting translated disks (USB) to work in a multi tasking enviorment is key. As you say, having it boot. There is a function that if you had an .img on one of the usb - you are supposed to be able ...

As one of the last few to sign the petition (a month ago) I like to think I pushed it over the edge ;)

Thank you. I assume the donation button on the website is good?? ;)

Re: CosmosEX v2 SCSI MegaSTE HELP!

I assume you are using Sandisk and not some generic card?? Sandisk works for SURE! I have gotten other stuff to work, but it is slower. before you give up on the CE.. check that. Use a card everyone knows works.. aka Sandisk.

Re: Mega STe - not in Hatari

Hatari is 2.0 Steem is 3.9 SSE

I guess I will just settle with STE @16mhz 4mb, but seems funny that Hatari has the MegaSTE option, and I read little about it not working.. but I cannot get it to work with magiC.. thats for sure.

Re: What is the latest Papyrus version?

I assume was ment for the Falcon (does TT do long file names?) Long filenames do not depend on the machine but on the OS. Both MagiC and FreeMiNT run on plain ST, too. :) Sure mikro, but after running magiC or MiNT on a ST.. you have about 1mb of memory left.. that wont even start Papyrus. As for P...

Re: What is the latest Papyrus version?

But what is the last version that will work on a 8+3 file system STE?
I have a Papyrus X and it is all long filename so I assume was ment for the Falcon (does TT do long file names?)

I need an english version that will run on my mega STE 4mb

Mega STe - not in Hatari

I have been playing with Hatari for a couple of days now. My goal is to try and emulate my real hardware so I can test programs, and setups with the quick ease of a windows or OSx desktop. I can get STE 16mhz tos 1.62 to work on Hatari with the magiC img that PP made. I can get STE(only option) with...

Re: Hatari 2.0 and ACSI Image problems ...

Glad I found this thread. I was having the exact same issue with my Hatari install on my Hackintosh. I am running El Capt. I moved the directories to a separate drive and just name them on the root level, everything fine. Annoying.. but fine. I want to have both an ASCI imge and Gemdos to transfer f...

Re: Mega STE with NOVA and Geneva

very nice.. what card are you using? I have an ET4000. Do you need to use NVDI5 with this? I like the fact that Geneva and Neodesk only using up about 600K together. Somehow my version of neodesk wont say the desktop settings.

Re: CosmosEX with Mint or MagiC

MagiC is a 3 bomb when loading, before, or after as mentioned. As magiC is the most viable OS given most are using 4mb and multitasking etc.. would be desirable for anyone doing more than just games, I think this is the biggest issues to be fixed with the cosmos - it is even more useful as using a t...

Oh, did not know that Jookie himself wrote it, I know that several of the softwares for the cosmos either have contributions or are contributions to the project.

Well, it seems I must have offended him or something. I tried my personal domain email, wrote the email in plain text (no html), had the Atari word in subject and still no reply. I swear I only wanted to purchase stuff from him and asked him if they are available. :-/ I guess I am in the same boat....

Fake STing - what works, what doesnt?

Hey all, Hoping to get some conversation going. I have a megaSTE with 4mb and a microcosmos. Using wifi to connect to my network. I would like to do some basic internet work with my ST if I could. Email, IRC, Telnet, browse Atari.org (about the only site I can get anything out of !!!) I have tried t...

I am running an ET4000 1mb I can run 1024 x 756 256col - but if I run that mode many programs bomb out .. sysinfo says I am using too much screen memory to run with a little (poo) box to click.. lol.

I will post my results. as well.

Going to add this here rather than a new thread. I am using this.. Xboot III 3.2 eng patched. I am following everything as far as I can tell. I have multi sets. But I want to have a newdesk.inf for each or options anyway. I have a VME ET4000 / Multisync so I can run low/med/hi.. SO I create a deskto...

Re: Mega STe Hd floppy problem

I painted the faceplate. It looks pretty good, but after enough times in and out it will wear. I did end up using the Teac FD-235hf - worked great, just with the D0 D1 mod. I found that that drive checks the fat after any eject it would seem, so no other mod was required. I have not been able to get...

Re: Web browsing with CosmosEx?

I am still trying to get this to work. I am using a Mega STE 4mb machine. I have Cab 2.7 and Cab 1.5 - There was an overlay in 1.5 that seems to work with the Fake STing -- so I can get working with both using that .ovl. I crash often and many things are screwy, but I think that is what it is.. not ...

Re: CosmosEX with Mint or MagiC

So I am using a Microcosmos, with MiNT(freeMiNT) and i can access the translated drives, but I do have some funky issues where it does seem to mess up the reading and writing.. so I am assuming this is it, usually if I try and run something on it. If all i do is use them for file transfers so far so...

Re: CosmosEX v2 SCSI MegaSTE HELP!

So Marakatti are you running it with an internal Asci drive? or you just wanted to set the jumpers so as not to conflict with your Cosmos?

I have mega STEs and I leave the controller in, but I have no HDD on it. all three of my switches are in the ON position, and working fine.
