Re: Cerco Lettore floppy interno o esterno Atari Mega STE

Google translate: Hello, the floppy reader of my Mega STE seems to have gone haywire. I do not know if it depends on the Atari or the same reader (does anyone know how to identify this problem? But beyond that, I look for an internal or external floppy even for a fee. Does anyone know where to find ...

Re: *OUT OF PAPER error

Code: Select all

OPEN "I",#1,"mid:"
a$=INPUT$(256,#1)
PRINT a$
CLOSE #1

Tried this and it works perfect on real Falcon030.
Can't help you with the emulator. Maybe your midi-in is not configured to the right hardware don't know how that works in STeem.

Re: *OUT OF PAPER error

What are you trying to achieve?
What is the XXX value. Maybe you open a channel to a printer?
open "I",#16,"filename.txt" for open file for reading
open "I",#16,"LST" or "PRN:" for open printer
you could use input #16,a$ for reading from a file

Re: new toys

Yesterday the OSSC (Open Source Scan Converter) arrived here. It is sort of deluxe upscaler like Framemeister. The OSSC is a device which converts analog video (VGA, RGB Scart) signals to digital hdmi/dvi video signal. For me this is an extra impulse for the retro hobby. I got a huge professional NE...

new toys

https://s25.postimg.org/cwp3lc0r3/GFA_ASM.jpg My "new" toys. Happy to add a real 1040STfm (TOS 1.0) to my Atari computer family. I had a 520ST in the past but it's gone long time ago. Still have many ST game disks, most of them did not work on my Falcons. I'm also very happy with this GFA...

rediscovered my lost books

In the times before there was internet we got our computer information from magazines and books. I got a bookcase with 2 meters of Atari (8 and 16/32 bit) books which I bought in that time. I had an Atari Falcon030 book but it was lost for many years. I searched everywhere and even when I moved 4 ye...

Re: Reproduction of Falcon's box

Shock and horror! I found my original Falcon's box today in the dustbin at my parent's house.
My brother had been cleaning the attic.
I took it out and the cardboard is not broken, but man that was close to destruction!
Not sure I have to rescue the foam it takes so much space.

DeskTopper has not won beauty contests but it has always been a handy space case. It has internal SCSI flat cable and external cable to Falcon connector at the back. DeskTopper before with two SCSI CD and now with CosmosEx. I had original DeskTopper bracket still lying around. http://img.photobucket...

What a beauty. It looks so modern. Can you believe its 25 years old tech. How futuristic would an Atari book look like now when they were still in business.

Re: Dune II / OpenDUNE for Falcon (and TT)

On my Falcon 14Mb/VGA the intro runs but it is squashed using only 1/3 of the screen.
Midi sounds great with Roland Soundcanvas SC-88vl.
Only after the intro I can select play game and then the Falcon freezes to a halt.

Re: Gfa init a high res Truecolor or 256c mode on falcon

maybe it is because you use mode% as integer (4 bytes) and not 2 byte word mode& as I see in most examples but it is not logical it should not make difference.
I can't run your code at the moment my Falcon is not in working state.

A320 Airbus was pretty good with a fat handbook and I also got Shuttle a bit too complex with all those controls but much fun when you eventualy got it safe into space. Never run any on an emulator.

Why GFA? Because we can and it is much fun. GFA is easy to understand, readable, I would recommend it to everyone who wants to try programming. I restarted programming in GFA this year after more than 17 years. For me it is logical to use GFA because I used it a lot back in the day. It brings back g...
