Re: MiSTer in Pi-top case

Guess your are correct - I spotted some on ebay in good nick for sub 200 € - Sadly mostly in this hideous green colour. I guess I will pass for now.

Re: MiSTer in Pi-top case

Your laptop turned out pretty great. Congrats! I am quiet jealous and am really considering building it. But cost/benefit is keeping me from it. Maybe once the Pi-Top gets the clearance sale treatment and I can get one for sub 100 € I would consider building one myself. Anyhow. Thanks for sharing yo...

Excellent! Great news!

As for the DOS side I have no clue. in former DOS times IPX and netbios was all the rage. Never seen a TCP/Stack on DOS (not that I would not like to see it though).

Re: MiSTer Case at shapeways (nylon plastic)

I added an older version of the MiSTer case for the old v2.7 I/O-Board (the one without the integrated fan). Also I added logo plates for the case that can even be printed in brass or aluminum. For die-hard MiSTer fans I added a keychain design that can be printed in gold plate material. Again this ...

Re: MiSTer Case at shapeways (nylon plastic)

Is it technology when model is printed inside the liquid? Rasin liquid - may be, i don't remember the name. So, when you take it out, you get the quality like from molds. Not quite a liquid but very similar. It is a form of SLA printing which uses heated nylon particles and a laser to fuse the part...

MiSTer Case at shapeways (nylon plastic)

I set up a shop at shapeways for anyone wishing to use shapeways services. They offer a 3d printing service and shipping world wide. They use a laser sinter technique to fuse together nylon making strong parts. I used their services in the past mainly for coloured 3D printing. Service was excellent ...

Re: VGA --> RGB for 1084S Monitor (solved!)

I am not too familiar with your Siemens FD210 but it could be that it does not accept RGB signal at all. SCART input does not always equal RGB input. Also the VGA Monitor could be connected to the integrated PC exclusively and internally. Maybe try and open up the device an look for the VGA connecti...

Re: Core porting questions

P.S.: i think, it can be a standard feature for all cores rather than NES only. Potentially every console can use this feature. Great progress guys! I really hope this can be ported over to the GB core as well - it should be really similar to the NES approach - one save per rom should be enough for...

Re: MiSTer - Case Universal v5.2 - 3D printed

Thanks - looks interesting. I designed the holes a bit on the tight end of the spectrum. Not all printers are really accurate and one can always widen it using a smaller skew size to "pre-drill" it. Of course if you want to remove it often a metal on metal solution like you propose is more...

Re: Mister... no USB devices are recognized...

I had similar problems using the very OTG adaptor Locutus73 showed. The adapter was faulty or out of specs (cheap China ware). When I used another one of the same type of adaptor that one actually worked without any problem since. So it could be the Nano is very picky. Maybe try different OTG adapto...

I already have multiple MiST and am a huge fan and proponent of the FPGA idea. Thanks to Till's great tutorials in a German magazine I even picked up some FPGA development skills myself. I hope the community keeps on running with the MiST idea and will come up with innovative ways of using the resou...

Re: MiSTer - Case v1.0

Updated Case for the v2.7 I/O-Boards. I added two new Top Shells now including buttons, the vents of the v5.2 case and an optional fan holding cage. The cage was matched for the noctua 40x40x20 mm fan but it should work well with other fans of similar dimensions. The noctua fan fits without glue or ...

Re: MiSTer XS Case - v5.2 XS for SDRAM XS - extra slim - v1.1

Again, I understand. But my modeling skills are crude at best. The OpenSCAD file is a program that can be parameterized and run through a compiler to produce a shape of the case (output is stl). Great to experiment. My take on this is that to get a slimmer fit (looking at the panels) one would have ...

Re: MiSTer XS Case - v5.2 XS for SDRAM XS - extra slim - v1.1

@Sorgelig: I attach my "unmodified" stls for easier customization (e.g. Panel without any holes). Also find attached the OpenSCAD I use for the outlining of the case. This file can be used to test out tighter tolerances. :) The code is a slightly modified version of the code found in this ...

New version of the case published:

MiSTer XS Case v2 for SDRAM XS - extra slim - v1.1

All in all 4 mm higher than MiSTer XS Case V1. I also changed the panel cut-out for the vga slightly.

Re: MiSTer XS Case - v5.2 XS for SDRAM XS - extra slim - v1.1

Agreed. I will look into make it bigger. Making the panels thinner is an option, but I cannot promise much here. Making changes to the tolerances could impact a lot of things and would require more testing. We will see. As for the lower hole of the vga, that is kind of useful to have. Fitting and re...
