Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

That looks absolutely great. It is kind of worrisome to me that some 3D printers have such a wide range of quality. Yours looks nice, some of the other ones I've seen, not so great. But then again part of it might be the way the model is designed, I'm sure 3D printing only handles certain methods ve...

I kind of wonder if there are some issues with gmail. I never use it myself, but I've been trying to contact a guy through gmail for months now to get something I ordered from him, and he just stopped responding to me, but he responds to others just fine. Though to be fair, I DID try one of my other...

I think I tend to use unzip from bash under MiNT. It's been a while since I set it up though.

Ha, I think I just used wget through MiNT directly to fetch the zip files. Or maybe it was FTP from my NAS. Either way, Doom on the Falcon runs AWESOME.

Re: Can't find a US 2.06 TOS image

For RGB output there is no PAL or NTSC... I don't know much about MIST, but maybe the output isn't direct. My scandoubler alse always outputs 640x480 50Hz. As with the capacities - they have been lying since a long time: the 1.44MB floppy disk in no way had 1.44MB - it had 1440kiB, so 1.47MB or 1.4...

At the moment I use external SCSI disk and insternal SD2SCSI for the storage. The SD2SCSI still fits to the top of harddisk cover, not in in the picture.

Nice job!

Tenox, an option could be you ask Dan to release binaries and source on a day, eg 28 Feb, and what is done gets released and what is not gets added to later releases. I appreciate it's tough to release source if you have more plans for features etc. For instance I'm not sure how one would still mai...

The thing is a tank, built to last. I hope you were able to acquire some of the adapter cables for it as well. Makes life so much easier. Pretty sure I have everything I need, though I will be wiring up an ATX power supply to the power switch for the PicoPSU. Should be beautiful once it's all set u...

Re: Solution for higher resolutions on STE?

Woulnd't this test also apply to the TT030 with it's higher resolution modes? I think most proper GEM based programs wouldn't have an issue. But just because it looks 'gem-like' doesn't mean it's actually using GEM. I assumed this with Phantasie 1-3, but they don't quite work right on the Falcon, gr...

Ha, I thought for sure the last items I ordered from him were going to cost a small fortune to ship. It was the Wizztronics Falcon rack mount kit, and some smaller things. Re: Dilemma: Mega STE or not Mega STE?

Doesn't MSTE have an internal IDE interface? If so, then you can easily connect an CompactFlash card, as they support IDE mode. CF-IDE passive adapters are cheap and easily available. Nope, only computer in the ST line that had built in IDE was the Falcon (internal IDE, external SCSI) Mega STe and ...

Re: Can't find a US 2.06 TOS image

I absolutely hate that crap. From what I could tell, they changed that because the hard drive manufacturers wanted to skimp on sizes. So a 1TB drive is actually 1000GB instead of the old ways where everything was a broken out into 1024. The most frustrating thing for me was that they then changed 1...

I would assume so, since it's an HDMI output? Probably would be best asking over at AtariAge, since this forum is more about the 16/32 bit systems, and AtariAge is more for all around Atari stuff (including the flashbacks)

They all show 262KB on my Mac when they are unzipped. That's because Apple correctly (but maybe confusingly) uses SI unit prefixes. A file that is roughly 262000 bytes long will show up as 262 kilobytes. Whereas when there is talk about 256kB Atari ROMs, these are what the IEC wants to call kibibyt...

Re: Modern OS-es, pros and contras, experiences with ..

For MAME game data, I think it's about 68GB for roms, unless you tack on the ones that require hard drive images, then it easily goes up to 1TB+ Been awhile since I looked at the actual size of that though. I think it's only my latest build (i7-6700k) that can manage to play the newer Gauntlet games...

Seems all of the Dragonlance ones were released for the ST. Only a few of the Forgotten Realms ones were. Curse of the Azure Bonds is the sequel to Pool of Radiance, and supposedly Pool of Radiance was ported to the ST, but I have yet been able to find it anywhere! Sadly, I think all of the "Go...

Re: Does it fit? (PicoPSU + CT60e.)

One of the posts was stripped in my Falcon when I got it. I fixed it with these weird plastic beads that you heat up and then you can mold them into anything, then when they cool, it hardens. Stuffed some of it in the hole, put a screw in, let it harden, then shave off any excess.

Re: Does it fit? (PicoPSU + CT60e.)

Interesting. I could test it out here if I could find a 15.5mm spacer, since I already have the PicoPSU. I'll see if I can find / make one. I mean it really is a tight fit now, and I feel like I'd be forcing the screws into place, but 1.5mm smaller, it may just have enough clearance to fit right. I ...
