Re: CT60e is coming :)

Is it possible to create a version wherein the 060 is replaced with an FPGA running the apollo cpu core? No. But there is a chance the Vampire V4 can be made to fit a Falcon 030 CPU slot with a passive adaptor board. You'd need a specialised version of the Apollo Core to put in there to make it wor...

Re: Utilize more than 1GB from SD Card UltraSatan

Yeah, I was just suggesting to upgrade to TOS 2.06 because in general it is better.

I have an EEPROM burner, I should try making some ROMS.

Re: Utilize more than 1GB from SD Card UltraSatan

Yeah, it was my understanding that it's the hard drive controller itself that only allows reading 1GB hard drive (different than partition size). Which explains why, back in the day, I could never quite get my Barracuda 1.6gb 10k scsi drive to work. I actually think it's only TOS 1.0 that had really...

Re: Survey 2018 for a new batch of CosmosEx and MicroCosmos.

Wow, I've been building every computer that way since after the first Windows 95 computer I got. I started the upgrade path for that piece of crap and eventually just had enough components to build my own. Granted I never tried to turn around and sell them, but that just sounds insane. Talk about co...

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

Thanks! Couldn't remember that. The image quality is amazing for it though. ST-High on a 55" TV is cool too. Though I have a Falcon and TT, so not a lot of use for me on a 1040STe. But for someone else who wants to go down this route, could be nice.

Re: Utilize more than 1GB from SD Card UltraSatan

I'd recommend upgrading your TOS to 2.06 as well, it's nice. Now I know the Mega STe's internal SCSI is limited to 1GB drives, I'm not sure the same applies to ACSI though. I am in the same situation, sort of. I have two 2GB SD cards in it, but it only really uses the first half of them. But it does...

Re: Survey 2018 for a new batch of CosmosEx and MicroCosmos.

Wait, for just putting components in a computer themselves and selling them, they were sent to jail? Or you mean something like the 1088XEL, where it's a bunch of parts that are assembled by hand.

That's pretty ridiculous either way.

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

Hey, so I have one of the earlier versions of this adapter, but it has an amazing picture, especially compared to the Best Electronics cable. https://www.videogameperfection.com/forums/topic/atari-130xe-with-vbxe-upgrade/#post-20155 That thread went way off topic of my 8bit, but I was able to get ST...

I would have to check some of the devices I got from Lotharek, but since when can't you sell kits in the US? I order from exxos quite often, and they are in kit form.

So I'm about half way through watching that "Musicians and the Atari ST" and have to say that it makes me both sad and happy at the same time. On the one hand happy that clearly the ST had such a great influence on music and apparently sound effects industry. But sad considering Atari sat ...

Re: The end of Calamus: invers Software closes on March 31, 2018

Anyone going to buy it at 50%? I was looking at it and the wording is rather odd, Seems maybe since I could get an upgrade from the Lite Edition, that getting the Complete would be an extra 25% off? Guess I could email them... :P

Re: The end of Calamus: invers Software closes on March 31, 2018

2015 requires at least 800x600@256 colours. I had to get at first a 'BlowUP' adapter for it to work more stably on my Falcon, then got the CT60e, then got the SV. Now I just need to find time to use Calamus... So yeah, it'd work on the Mega STe, if you have a graphics card that'll do 800x600x256 min...

Invers (Calamus SL) closing on March 31st.

Didn't see this already posted here, but it looks like after 27 years, Invers is closing, so Calamus SL is no longer going to be developed (after I finally bought a copy of course).

But there is a 50% discount on all Calamus software and modules until the 31st.

Re: [Free]: Atari PTC1426 VGA monitor for TT

That is awesome, but last time I got a CRT in the post it was cracked quite a bit and wasn't when it was shipped, yet it was packed decently. It is just hard to ship those without some damage. Coming from across the pond, I bet it would show up as a shattered old mess by the time it got to me. Glad ...

That looks absolutely great. It is kind of worrisome to me that some 3D printers have such a wide range of quality. Yours looks nice, some of the other ones I've seen, not so great. But then again part of it might be the way the model is designed, I'm sure 3D printing only handles certain methods ve...
