Re: Wizztronics Rack Case for Falcon... mismatched screw holes?

Haven't had a chance to get the Falcon back out of it's case yet, and it's a good thing, I just got a new toy in the mail.

Might have to wait until the weekend, but this should help with making my Falcon 'neat'.

Re: Wizztronics Rack Case for Falcon... mismatched screw holes?

Hmm, that could be it. I had the case on my bed as I was trying to put it together. Nkw it is back in the original case all hooked up, kind of a chore to keep trying, I will see if it is bowed in the middle.

Re: Wizztronics Rack Case for Falcon... mismatched screw holes?

They lined up just right. I can try again when I wake up in the morning, I would have to take it back out of the case. Now I did try as well to see if I was supposed to put the shielding in, but that was a no go as some of the mounting holes made it sit at a weird level, and they still did not line ...

Re: Wizztronics Rack Case for Falcon... mismatched screw holes?

Bah, I suppose most people use imgur? Anyhow, here's my second attempt at attaching a picture. Scaled down enough, not sure if you can see.

The hole at the top lines up just fine, all of the ones under where the PSU/CT60e sit do not.

Re: Wizztronics Rack Case for Falcon... mismatched screw holes?

The case I had, pattern fit the motherboard through holes precisely. Wouldn't the rear cutouts not match if not for a Falcon? If they match, but main board holes don't, easily enough head room to fab an adapter plate out of Lexan or like. That's an interesting idea. Yeah the cut outs on the back ma...

Re: Wizztronics Rack Case for Falcon... mismatched screw holes?

Ha, I had taken a picture, but it's kind of hard to see that the holes don't line up. P.S. I kind of hate these days that I take a picture on my camera phone and it's this massively high resolution, and then I have to cut and resize things so that I can get them so I can upload to the forum... Wizztronics Rack Case for Falcon... mismatched screw holes?

So I bought (apparently the last one in stock) a Wizztronics Rack Case for my Falcon, tried to slide the motherboard into place and.. the screw holes simply don't match up on the board. No idea why, but it's definitely off enough that I'd either have to bend the mount holes to get it to fit, or even...

Re: How actively are you using your MiST?

I don't yet suffer from the lack of VGA. My current Living room TV has one, and I have an old Dell hooked up to my next to my newer Dell monitors for my retro system. It has S-video, Composite, VGA and DVI. I even hooked up my Falcon and get 1600x1200 on it, which is a fabulous resolution for MiNT! ...

Re: How actively are you using your MiST?

Bought one, looked at it, sat gathering dust before I finally sold it. Prefer the real hardware, that's just me. :) I'm the same way, though have not sold my MiST. I think I'd use it more if it could run like a Falcon, been way too spoiled with mine. If we could get a MiST 2 with a larger FPGA that...

Re: Plastic Dyes for turning an ST keyboard into a Falcon?

Ha, for sure. I think it was Exxos that had suggested I not bother fixing the old 1040STf that I have, because it is cheap enough to get a new one. I ended up finding an STe and getting his excellent TOS switcher installed for compatibility. Oddly the only ST family I am missing is from the original...

Re: Plastic Dyes for turning an ST keyboard into a Falcon?

Crap! Well so much for that idea. Still might end up just hero b a 3d printer. I did just order the last wizztronics rack case from Best, so am not sure if I will just switch to my Mega STe keyboard or stick with the Falcon one.

Plastic Dyes for turning an ST keyboard into a Falcon?

I've been trying to figure out how to get my Falcon's keyboard to be a US one (or at least a UK one that doesn't have a weirdly slanted Y) and then was looking into paint, but of course that'd cover up the lettering. Then I found this; http://www.instructables.com/id/Rit-Dye-Keyboard-Mod/ Anyone try...

Re: Cloning an Atari CF card on a Mac

Well, if you want a fully graphical version. Get a USB stick, snag a Linux Distro that uses Gnome, boot it up, load a program called "Disks" and you can use it to wite out to an image, then you can restore that image back to another CF card. I think the downside of this program is if you h...

Kind of strange, since they seem rather active on the forums when people need help. Though I think Chris himself seems less active here, now that he hosts his own forums and I see him post on facebook. Though maybe that is because I have been distracted from this forum to get my 130XE working right....

Re: Wizztronics Rack Case for the Atari Falcon 030

Nice! It does look like there are some options there. I figured it wouldn't have perfect holes for it, but it does look like there is the Video Interface port that might be wide enough for VGA and DVI. I know I have seen some extenstion cables for the Jaguar controllers, though they don't have the s...

Re: Wizztronics Rack Case for the Atari Falcon 030

I'm looking at this and thinking I'd like to put my Falcon into one. Does it have outputs on the back for the VGA/DVI connectors from a SuperVidel? I think if it has that and can get the SCSI internal, or at least wrapped in nicely from the back for the CosmosEx, I wouldn't mind a case like this!

http://www.mobygames.com/game/atari-8-bit/power-down According to mobygames, it was only released for the 8-bit. So what you're saying is someone SHOULD remake it for the ST/e? :)

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

A bit of an announcement. And, I’ll probably start a new Atari project or two. When the Swedish cold, long winter sets in. Winter is coming.... So I think the problem with my 8bit/vbxe output is probably there just isn't a way to adjust the rgb on it like there is for the GBS-8220. May have to figu...

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

Ought to. If there’s syncs on the same pins. If it doesn’t, plug it into an ST, set it to low res and hold the button for 3 seconds, it’ll save low res as default at power on. Finally got the VBXE home safe and sound. Sadly all I get from the Dell 2001FP when I plug it into the VBXE board is 'Can n...

Thanks for the explanation, I wasn't 100% sure if it was an Odd/Even Dev/Stable type release like the Linux Kernel used to be. So 1.18 is stable, 1.19 dev branch, 1.20 stable, etc. Whoa, see I thought I'd read and seen mass storage working on the NetUSBee, but have yet to get it working myself, Hell...

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

Mega computers, the monitor itself is in the way. With the external connector one can place a button on the side of the computer for easier reach. PAL/NTSC: not feasible. At least not without adding extra hardware. :) So.. version 1.2? :) Always thought it would have been nice if there had been a s...
