Re: A couple abandonware apps

Plenty of open source Wikis out there. Could get a Linode account or something and set one up too. On that note, it'd be awesome to have a sister wiki that handles Past, Present and Future hardware projects as well, rather than having them scattered all over the forum. For example, currently CT60e i...

I have the similar card, and mostly just got up to 1024x768@256 with just using NVDI 5.03 and its ET4000 driver.

Strong work! Email sent. Thanks for sharing your skills. No problem. Latest update is that I'm going to start working on designing an attachment to replace the HDD LED as well, just trying to work on the logistics of how to best do it. Seems for some, the HDD bracket is corroded even worse than the...

Re: https for atari-forum.com

I have been thinking for a while that I need to come up with a Squid config do people can buils their own SSL gateway for 16/32bit machines. The reason for this? Even on the shiny new version of IBrowse for the Amiga, SSL enabled sites take an extra 5 minutes to work, and that is on an 060@50. So if...

Re: SuperVidel DVI connection

Yeah, I say a few of those. Was hoping to retain the potential of using two screens. Not sure if you can split out HDMI like that. I am getting to the point that I may attempt to just make a cable...then I could at least attempt to keep the size if the plug to a minimum.

So I bought one of these; https://www.amazon.com/Extension-CGTime ... 081&sr=8-2 It works with the DVI connection, but sadly does not support the dual-monitor output that my VGA/DVI cable does.

I ended up getting 3mm ones, which should show up today. I'll test the grommets that I bought, but they fit the power LED amazingly well.

Leech over at Atari Age is looking at making replacements for this. He's already done a replacement for the power LED on the Mega STe. Good stuff. https://atariage.com/forums/topic/300934-mega-stett-led-replacements/ Yeah, I'll start creating the yellow LEDs tonight. I just need to measure out the ...

Re: New SuperVidel & some ideas for future development.

Yes, but a lot of applications that looks like GEM applications writes window contents directly to screen memory. If it works on Aranym + native fVDI, it should work on a software-rotated VDI as well. Not even Conholio does naughty things like that (although I've considered it as an option). That's...

Re: New SuperVidel & some ideas for future development.

Screen rotation could be achieved with some work using the TOS VDI, but I'm fairly confident that it's more or less impossible/hellish to achieve this on the NVDI driver side. Such a solution will work with virtually no software that does anything else than outputting text. OTOH if the SuperVidel i...

Re: New SuperVidel & some ideas for future development.

@Shoggoth That's right, been a while since we were going back and forth about that, forgot it was NVDI that qas the issue. Ha, would love to do DTP on a Afalcon in 4k with the monitor rotated, though I think the SV maxes out at 1920x1080 (probably not due to anything other than it using DVI/VGA). Ac...

Re: New SuperVidel & some ideas for future development.

So really, the biggest SV advantage is C2P-less rendering, not the better resolutions. Even 68060 has its limits. To me the biggest advantage is the higher resolutions (for GEM stuff) and much, much faster bus. Yeah, pretty much this. Granted, most GEM stuff will just work and take advantage of it....

Re: New SuperVidel & some ideas for future development.

There are quite a few ports for standard Falcons, and 060 Falcons... but very little 060+SuperVidel Falcons! Any (recent-ish) SDL1 port should utilise SV automatically as there is support for its new modes and C2P-less rendering. As far as mine are concerned, at least Atari800 and Quake uses SV cap...

If I may suggest, try to talk to Nature team, perhaps they would eventually agree to release their design files to public. I know instream, who is by the way following this topic as far as I know, is a very pleasant person to talk to. Didn't Willy buy the licensing rights from Nature? I'm glad some...

Re: CosmosEX 3.0

I'm hoping us that they've worked it out so they can make enough for those that want them, since It's a great device, and more people that have them, the more support for them there will be. Still would love a network printer / driver that acts like an Atari Laser Printer.
