Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

I'm new to the MiSTer scene, coming from the MiST Amiga implementation. I'd like to configure the MiSTer using the files in the SD card of the MiST. Is this possible? If so, which files to use and where to copy in the MiSTer card? Just to clarify, the SD card in the MiST is configured to boot straig...

Re: AGA core for mist

Hi AmigaOS2. I received your email and tried your setup. There is no minimig-mist version 1.2 on the shared Dropbox account. Your config for Workbench has wrong settings - 68000, ECS, no fast memory. It doesn't seem you disabled the ROM updates - a dead giveaway is that the minimig reboots once, wh...

Re: AGA core for mist

mahen: not really ;) What does 'works perfectly' mean to you? Do the games that didn't work for AmigOS2 work for you? Do you have ROM updates enabled or not? Same kickstart? Same config? Could I get the hardfile image and the kickstart ROM, so I can test this myself? @chaos - I sent you an email wi...

I don't know how to do this" "reconfigure by changing INI files." I have never messed around with the INI files in the MiST.

Re: AGA core for mist

I everything fails, get in touch with Chaos :) Or ask for a replacement board ? Don't give up, it's pretty awesome :) Getting in touch with chaos is the way to go. If the V1.1 core worked then your board definitely is fine. Also all boards are the same. There are no different hardware revisions or ...

Re: AGA core for mist

Hi ! We exchanged quite a few emails with AmigOS2. Actually, his hardfiles / settings / kickstart and firmware versions are good : no problem on my MiST. So the issue might be due to some hardware discrepancies (sdram timing, SD card compatibility...). It DID happen in the past (I experienced it) t...

Re: AGA core for mist

My bad. The random messages that I am getting with the new core and firmware upg are back. I thought that I had done a bad update, but it turned out that what I have done to update to v1.2 was fine. So I am getting random Workbench error messages (mostly System errors). When i restored the old core...

Re: AGA core for mist

You need to both update the core.rbf file and the firmware. Instructions are in the wiki (so check details) but to summarize: 1) upgrade firmware from inside the old core (via OSD menu) 2) (optionally) copy the old core file in your SD card as a backup 3) replace with new core file on the SD I did ...

Re: AGA core for mist

I am quite new to the MIST. Could anyone please let me know how to update this new build (minimig-mist-v1.2 (2016-02-21))?

Thank you.

Re: AGA core for mist

Nubie to MIST question: Where in my SD I copy these new cores minimig-mist-1_1_20160123.rbf and minimig-mist-1_1_20160125.rbf? I looked in my SD and found the following directory Amiga Minimg AGA>Core and inside of the Core directory I have several other rbf files. I'm sorry for such a basic questi...

Re: AGA core for mist

I noticed that every time that I boot up the MiST, using the Amiga AGA core the available memory is set to zero (0). So after rebooting I get back 24.1 million kb.

Is there a problem with the original configuration in the microSD card?

Re: AGA core for mist

Are you using a separate partition for the Amiga data, or a hard drive file? If it's the latter then a straightforward copy from your card to a new one should be fine. I don't know what the biggest capacity card you can use will be, I've not gone any bigger than 8GB. Besides the folders and core fi...

Re: AGA core for mist

I'm sorry if these questions don't below in this thread. I'm new to the MiST configured with Amiga AGA. I just received my system a week ago and before I start making full use of it I'd like to make a master backup of the SD card with the Amiga configuration I bought with my MiST. Is it possible jus...
