Re: roland d10/d-110 and atari software

wow thanks for the software. dr t's caged editor series works really well on real hardware the d110 rompler sounds aren't that great, except for the white noise and drum sounds, but the saw and square waves are very nice, and they can be detuned with 3 envelopes. pretty good for the price (75 quid i...

More samples freshly sampled today!

Synton Fenix waveforms sine, square, pwm, noise, dig, fm bell

Yamaha PSS 780, tubular bells preset patch

Korg Volca Beats (incomplete, difficult to record)

Feel free to experiment with these samples

Hope they are used and enjoyed by Atari users

Wondering what software has the most interesting spectrum analysers? As close to PAS Spectrum Analyser as possible would be great.

Octalyser (.avr samples)

Hello, got a sample cart and Octalyser software set up. If anyone wants one or two samples made let me know I will try and help you out. My setup is a modular synth, tried to make some analogue drums. Also some waveforms. The drums are better than the waveforms. BDB is a bass drum. The bass gets rea...

Re: Those £5 USB Floppy drives any good to get stuff from PC to Atari?

Yeah, finally the AV cable arrived by post. Just tried the ATARI 520STe on the big screen TV. Looks really clear. 16 colours doesn't look bad at all. Octalyser works for 4 channels. 6 or 8 channels makes the screen go weird sadly. Got some home made drum samples made with analogue synth and 8 bit sa...

Re: Those £5 USB Floppy drives any good to get stuff from PC to Atari?

My usb floppy drive works after all. :D :D :D format a: /t:80 /n:9 works OK from command in XP. but the disks are old and some of them have bad sectors. some old demo disks are useless. be careful of what disks you are using. check for bad sectors, format will tell you after you are finished. tried ...

Re: Yamaha OPL on Atari STe?

"Industry Standard Architecture (ISA) is a retronym term for the 16-bit internal bus of IBM PC/AT and similar computers based on the Intel 80286 and its immediate successors during the 1980s. The bus was (largely) backward compatible with the 8-bit bus of the 8088-based IBM PC, including the IB...

Re: Those £5 USB Floppy drives any good to get stuff from PC to Atari?

Right click on the a:/ then click format
Should be able to select 720k/1.44mb in the menu on XP
Use an ATARI ST old demo disk not a PC disk

Isn't there a version of TOS that can format msdos disks?

BTW this forum is awesome :D

Re: Preparing digidrums for maxymiser?

Ebay had an Atari "Sound and Music" package for £15, arrived really quick too. The cart has a monophonic input. The software is available online too, there's one called Sample Maker and another called Music Maker Plus (STe)/MusicMaker (STfm). It seems pretty good. The samples save in .AVR ...

Yamaha OPL on Atari STe?

For Commodore 64 there were extra cartridges for sound sampling and there was one called the sound expander which could do FM synthesis on a Yamaha OPL soundchip. STe can do sampling and tracking through DMA or YM. Can Atari do OPL type of synthesis too? Were there any OPL cartridges ever released b...

Re: Those £5 USB Floppy drives any good to get stuff from PC to Atari?

In 2007 I bought a small grey usb floppy drive from Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan. It was 200 yen. About £2 at the time. It accepts old Atari demo disks. You need to format the disk as 720k msdos type in XP. Then copy over the Atari files that you've downloaded then put them in the STE and they should wor...

Re: Windows Midi > ST Playback?

YM chip has 3 channels A midi .mid file might have 16 channels along with patch changes None of the well known Atari trackers read midi files There are sequencers that can read .mid files then play all 16 channels out of the midi port. If you have 3 monophonic parts you might be able to do some work...

Re: Preparing digidrums for maxymiser?

Getting too much distortion on the samples, a snare drum is changing into full spectrum white noise. A 400Hz sine wave is playing like a square wave with harmonics. Is saving the file as 25600hz rate a better idea? There doesn't seem to be a 55100hz option in the software.
