Re: Trionoids - Columns Clone for the Falcon - RELEASED!

In multiplexing, you need to select one of the four groups first, before reading them because the same bits represent different values, this is what screws the emulators ;) 1) Write a value to address 0xFF9202. This sets the control lines on the multiplexers. 2) Read the values at 0xFF9200 and/or 0x...

Re: Compiling VASM with Visual Studio 2015 Community

Just to let people know, if you're installing VS2015 for this purpose, the C++ Language is NOT installed by default. When you run setup, you need to select it as a language in order to use this tutorial. (You can also use "Modify" if you have got VS installed already). This was a major ste...

It is STE only, thats down to the use of Hardware scrolling .. But, by using the STE and making the game for it, I get to use all the other kool STE bits like the DAC and the jagpad :P The music is done using the DAC ;) Jagpad code is horrendous on ANY emulator, it just doesnt seem to be top priorit...

Re: Raiden - Atari ST WIP

Did he use STOS for programing? No, I switched to ASM for this one, STOS was just a bit too slow for frames when everything was running full tilt ;) Handling the second level is going to be a challenge for sure! Will it be parallax? No Idea, As im only currently on Level 1 ... a playable demo is in...

Re: Frogger - Released! STFM/E/TT030/Falcon

Thanks for the comments guys, the arcade version has more height .. i mean in retrospect it COULD have been done with overscan but then more sprites would be needed and it would slow the whole thing down. though I think your version has a wider screen. Yeah the original is tall and thin for want of ...

I bought an Atari 520 STm with a 1MB upgrade yesterday Congrats on this :) No encouragement from me regarding an STE lol One thing tho... There has been a lot of debate about HOW to upgrade the STM to 1mb safely... there are "piggybacked" RAM solutions and I wondered if this is the soluti...

Can I point you to this topic http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=28665 I had a lot of issues with this myself... and this seems to be the best answer tbh Add 150 ohm resistors on R,G,B signals. DO NOT add resistors on V-sync (blanking signal). Boucing screen solution - add 100uf / 10v (or 16...

Re: Frogger STFM/E BETA Release Vers: 12th Aug

It refuses to run on TT or Falcon (Hatari emulation). Could those checks be post-poned until final version, so that people can test whether / how well the game works on them? Not really, its not going to work on either machine... so rather than let people look at a black screen and/or crashing thei...

did you use any of the arcade code, or is it a complete new version? No, no.. Its a complete "new" version as it were... Wrote it in Assembly. It actually started as a learning exercise for learning ASM and turned into the game. I already had the sprites from the STOS version and needed t...

Re: Frogger STFM/E BETA Release Vers: 11th Aug

who i should i credit for the sound fx? - That would be DMA-Sc, His work is really good, just waiting on updated sfx and music file to complete the set. There are too many STe/TT/Falcon master-racers as it is and the older hardware often gets forgotten. This has always been precisely my point lol. ...

All SC1224's I've used has been like this. Aah thats a shame, for the price of a SC1224, it seems like a nice collectors model but not really useful for my needs tbh. I DO thank you for your input tho guys, guess its a standard 14" CRT !! .. at least I can pick this up for £5 UKP or even less :)

Re: Frogger STFM/E BETA Release [EDITED]

What needs fixing for TT? Well, It RUNS on the TT, in ST-Low 'mode' but there are three major issues that need addressing really... 1)The screen is pure black all the time (If you press space to start a game the music plays, you can die and return to GEM, BUT all the while the screen is entirely bl...
