Re: SNES core

Have you tried if it works with the SNES_20190124 version of the core?

Re: SNES core

What SD-Ram board do you use? Others said it worked with older versions of the core, maybe you can try this to pinpoint the error.

Lion core ported to MiSTer

Leon ported the core of his self developed Computer Lion (custom 16 Bit CPU computer) to MiSTer_ https://hackaday.io/project/162876-lion-fpga-cpucomputer/log/175054-lion-core-for-mister From the description page of Lion started to explore FPGAs and made a 16bit CPU, then I set a goal to make a compu...

Re: Newbie questions

So I did that now. Unsure if it's working because whenever I launch a core it still drops the video signal. Console cores are working fine. I did a clean install of mister files on the sd card and i'm having the same issue: no video signal! very confused. Be aware, most arcades are using funky refr...

Re: Arcade cores

The double dragon core has been released. Is it just me or do they only work when i go to the reset option in the mister menu? Otherwise it doesn't boot up. The JT mister menu is available and only when i pick restart it works. The other cores boot up fine Jotego wrote that there still is a bug tha...

Re: Newbie questions

Good morning! I'm having a hell of a time getting any of the arcade roms to run since the change to the MRA backend. I ran the updater script this morning so I have all the latest updates. I have a zipped, merged, mame 0.217 romset in: _Arcade/mame. I could not find a guide other than this one: htt...

Re: MegaCD (SegaCD) Core

I use internal+cart, but I doubt that this is the reason saving doesn't work for you. In order to save the Backup RAM to the SD card it is necessary to open the core menu after saving ingame. If you have Autosave is turned ON the Backup RAM will be written to the card every time you open the core m...

Re: MegaCD (SegaCD) Core

I just tried Silver Star and for me it saves fine. Do you save on the internal RAM or the RAM cart? Can you tell me what steps do you take to save?

You wrote earlier, you have a save file somewhere on the cart? Did you create this file? If so, this isn't necessary, the core creates the save file.

I have tried both cart and external. I think the save game is not working.. Nevermind. I figured out what the problem was. Please share the solution. Re: Newbie questions

I have a MiST and a MiSTer, both are great devices and I like the subjective "feel" of having a hardware simulation instead of an emulation, but from my experience uneven framerates or tearing in an emulation are the result of weak hardware and/or bad configuration. On a Windows PC from th...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

After reset it just sets it back to KICK.ROM Do you save your settings? It could be that your settings files are write-protected. Yes, I did. But it didn't work. BUT with another SDcard I had no issues what-so-ever. Everything works just like it should. Perhaps I goosed stuff up somehow. Try to ref...

Happens now and then, maybe every 100th time I change a core. A cold reboot always solves the problem.

Re: ZX Spectrum Next sources released

Well your 'argument' is basically nonsense as the Next also runs many other cores too. Really? So the Next runs Atari, Amiga, dozens of arcade cores, Sam Coupe, etc? Yeah, I didn't think so. :coffe: The ZX Spectrum Next can run other cores too, right now it's not as much as on the MiSTer, but of co...

What happens, when you try to use another kickstart rom? What roms have you tried? What is the size of your roms?

ZX Spectrum Next sources released

Just out of interest.

Would it be possible to port the Spectrum Next core to the MiSTer?

https://gitlab.com/SpectrumNext/ZX_Spectrum_Next_FPGA

EDIT: Already found the answer, Phoebus Dokos says in theory it would be possible.

On the 2600 update. Is the new audio module closer to the original? Just curious. Well, why don't you listen yourself? In theory it should be. At least Pitfall! is not silent :) Oh nice! Just tried some other games and they sounded not different (hard to tell if I try to listen for differences I te...

There is a script that backups the cfg files to your Google Drive account. Comes in handy, when - for any reason - you have to reinstall everything.

Re: Atari 2600 / VIC 20

Can only speak for myself, I love playing Gridrunner and Matrix on the VIC-20, but not many of the games for the machine saved something to disc or tape. It were mostly the Scott Adams Text Adventures, but these are much more pleasant to the eye on a 40 characters per line machine ;) On the 2600 upd...

It should. I don't have a 128MB SDRAM board to test actually test it, but support for the newer SDRAM boards was implemented already in a an earlier version.

Works fine here with 128 MB.

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

Booting from HDD without an empty floppy image should be fast, because the ST should see the HD and ignore the floppy drive, but it seems this image isn't properly recognized by the driver, it is reported as not identified, even if it works fine. I think this is more an issue of this specific image...

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

Nevermind, the image works fine, I just didn't wait long enough Ha! Same happened to me, but I then remembered that even the original ST is seeking for a floppy disk for some time before booting from hdd (you can hear that by some noises from ST's floppy - which is missing in on fpga). You can spee...
