Re: Seeking a Falcon 030 English Keyboard

Good luck finding one. In the meantime you can use an ST or Ste one.

Re: STacy restoration & upgrade Q's

I used one of these to put a CosmoSex in my Stacey

https://lotharek.pl/productdetail.php?id=49

Also changed the internal floppy to be drive B and the CosmoSex is drive A.

Re: Internal Ultrasatan cable for Mega STe/STacy

I've got one of Lotharek's adapters in my Stacy which I put a CosmoSex in and indeed the external port is disabled/not connected.

Re: Missing FireBee

Hi

Which email address were you using?

I found Mathias helpful with this address

acpinfo@atari.org

I also had communication from them on

mcs@kingx.com

This was in August last year so things may have changed?

Re: Falcon coming alive

Have you tried resetting the NVRAM? (left ALT + CONTROL + right SHIFT + UNDO on booting)

The mouse problem could be a broken solder joint on the 9 pin connector on the keyboard PCB (common fault)

Re: Stacy internal CosmosEX

Hi Yep it was the Mega STE one. The Stacy and the Mega STE share the same controller. And yes the external ACSI port is disabled as it is no longer connected. But with the CosmosEX I no longer really need it. Although it would have been nice to use the supercharger with it. Re the backlight ye...

Re: Stacy internal CosmosEX

Hi, After removing the SCSI controller I plugged in the adapter I got from Lotharek and used the ACSI cable ribbon cable to go between this and the CosmosEX. The adapter should plug directly onto the 30pin header on the mainboard and has a 24pin header which the ACSI lead plugs onto. Re the battery ...

Re: CosmosEX v2 SCSI MegaSTE HELP!

I can tell you that an 8GB USB Drive didn't work with my CosmosEX in my Stacy4 but a 2GB one does. But again I only have the one 8GB on hand so cannot confirm for sure it's not just the stick?

Re: Stacy internal CosmosEX

OK So I've formatted the drive with ICD with the initial partition on the 2GB SD being 15MB then the rest are 250MB with the last around 191MB. However Now that it is booting off C drive I cannot get it to mount the USB drive as drive M? Drive O (CE Drivers) works fine. If I boot with the SD removed...

Re: Stacy internal CosmosEX

OK So I've got the adapter from Lotharek and it's installed with the floppy change to drive B. I had to replace the internal floppy cable and modify a standard one to match the twist from the original cable but it's working great. However when I try to run HDDRUTIL.PRG (version 9.x) I get an illegal...

Re: Stacy internal CosmosEX

Thanks.

Also whilst I'm doing the swap is it possible to make the internal floppy drive's ID B? - edit : Just noticed the cable has 2 connectors so "yes"

I also note that with the internal acsi adapter the external port will not work. Is there a workaround for this at all?

Stacy internal CosmosEX

So I fired up my old Stacy4 only to find the internal hard drives failed.

I know these things have the dodgy SCSI controller inside so I was wondering about mounting my CosmosEX (ACSI version) in place the hard drive?
What adapter would I need?

I have a Radeon 7000 card which I purchased for what was supposed to be my Falcon with CT60 and CTPCI. However the machine never arrived and the seller vanished  Just found it the other day and was wondering what I should do with it if your interested? card is labelled ATI7000 64MB PCI VGA an...

Re: eBay deal gone bad

I've had an SX64 arrive at the buyers totally smashed even though it was in a large box with small boxes packed around it as crumple zones. It really does not take much with these old machines. Of course it didn't help that the courier had dropped the package at some point. I gave the buyer a full r...

Ok so it looks hopeful that my firebee is back up and running correctly.

I’ve left it on overnight and will test again in the morning but everything so far looks good.

Thanks Mathias and Vido for your assistance with it.

OK so my fingers are crossed at the moment as I seem to have it working with the 16GB CF card. 8O Hopefully fixed but I cannot remember exactly which files I flashed to get it to this stage. Copying files to the CF seems fine for the moment so hopefully it will stay that way. Sorry GB  It's a no go on the hard drive. Fails when trying to edit the boot sequence in SBOOT during the boot process. Either this drive is not liked or something in the flash isn't right still. I've followed the instructions here http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=32159&...

Re: CF setup

OK Some progress (I think) I managed to track down a 4MB IDE drive which seems to format and work. (Most of my old gear runs on CF or SD cards) So using Windows to partition it as 4x FAT partitions it does boot and reads fine. It can copy from the IDE to SD (Drive C to A) but will not write. If I tr...
