Re: OPL3 core?

To be clear, this is not a MiST core, but it would be cool if it was possible to make a "OPL player" core for the MiST from his work :D

I think it sounds spot on.

Here's the source btw: https://github.com/gtaylormb/opl3_fpga

Re: Not able to write to blank disks - issue

I am having issues with this too. I am just creating standard DD and am attempting to write some files to A: Everything looks fine an dandy in Hatari, but the .ST file is untouched so it just looks like a blank disk in my MiST. How do I know the file is untouched? They have the same MD5 after I copi...

SM144 with really dim picture

I picked up a SM144 monitor, and at first I thought it was dead. But it turned out that the picture was extremely dim or faint. Cranked up the brightness and contrast to max, but it is still really dark. sm144_1.jpg I left it on for at least 30 minutes and then the picture improved a bit, not as muc...

Mega ST floppy transplant

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows if this is possible. I have a Mega ST with missing floppy drive. I also have a SF314 drive, with the exact same front (big button). Can I use the drive from the SF314 to put in the Mega?

Re: Correct pinout for the Floppy SF314 PSU?

Thanks DrCoolZic :)

I will try using a external PSU for hard drives, as soon as I get the DIN5 plug I'll make a molex-DIN adapter and see if the drive works. The PSU is rated 2A so should be plenty for this use.

Re: Bug reports

Latest appl upgrade (16-09) does not fix certain crashes when loading programs/games from translated drive (that do in turn run properly from sdcard). For example, Pirates! (http://dbug.kicks-ass.net/patches/2009/pirates.zip) runs from sdcard, but crashes to desktop after the opening screen when ra...

Re: Correct pinout for the Floppy SF314 PSU?

Time to revive this thread. I have a SF314 drive without PSU, but I have no idea if it's using 12V. Does anyone have an idea?

Also, what kind of current would the drive need? Can I just solder a DIN5 plug to any "wallwart" with the right ratings?

Here's the PCB.

Re: Bug reports

One thing you could try is to run it from SD card (inserted in the SD card slot, not through USB reader), disable the translated drive so you would have only SD card as the only ACSI ID assigned, then boot from the SD card (ICD Pro or HDDRIVER) and then see if it behaves the same. The point of this...

Re: Bug reports

Issue 1: Not sure if this is already reported. I have to go into the settings and re-save my DNS setting every time I want to use the update feature. Usually this is from a cold boot. The other settings such as static IP, gateway etc. are "remembered" by CE. But the DNS field is empty. Iss...

Thanks simonsunnyboy! That was it! :D

Now the scroller text is blue as the background. Any ideas how to change the text color? If I try changing this in small_font procedure:

Code: Select all

small_font(3)=1

.. the text just disappears.

BITBLT destroys palette?

Hi! Some time ago I found this pretty nice scroller example in GFA which I'm trying to modify. It has a custom font, doesn't use the builtin TEXT commands. http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=27874#p27874 What I'm trying to do is to display a inlined Degas picture: adr=XBIOS(2) ' Set palette ...

Re: Bug reports

Do you have to run the ICDFMT.PRG to get it working again, or just a reset or two of your ST would be enough? (try that if you didn't do it yet) There is a known issue that it needs a ST restart or two to get something initialized properly to boot the SD card... I know this one is annoying, it will...

Re: Bug reports

Ok, I now have a very frustrating issue which I can reproduce. In short: The CosmosEx "forgets" the ICD driver installation on cold boot. Summary: Everytime I shut off the power to CosmosEx, the ST doesn't boot from SD after I power it on again. To "fix" this, I have to boot from...

Re: Drive O

Today I managed to get things working better. I started from scratch and re-assigned the ACSI id:s; previously I had 0 - sd and 1 - translated. I swapped them, so now I have 0 - translated, 1 - sd. Suddenly the O: drive works, and the shared drive also works! If the SD slot should not be as...

For me, even that doesn't work. I have updated to the latest software too.

Edit: I put the config tool on a floppy instead now, and it seems to work. But why did the O: drive stop functioning after I partitioned?

Re: Insert key trouble in Macbook keymap

Atari program is pre-compiled, the trivial SDL test program you need to compile yourself for your host. Their output tells you what numbers are needed in Hatari keyboard mapping file, to map a specific host keys to specific Atari key. Thanks, that looks really useful. Maybe I'll try it out and if I...

Re: Mega ST - how to set real time clock?

Thanks all, my Mega now keeps the time on its own. Whenever the Supra is plugged in the bad Supra clock sames to take precedence over the internal clock, so I'll crack the case open at some point to see if the Supra clock can be disabled. :)
