Help me identify this MegaBus card

Hi, I just bought a Mega ST 4 on ebay and when I received it I noticed it had the following card in the MegaBus. Can anybody help me identify what it is? I have looked around, comparing pictures on the internet without any success. It has one connector soldered to one of the legs of the CPU, and the...

Re: Anybody install EasyMiNT 1.90 on a FireBee?

I ran into exactly the same problem when I tried to install EasyMiNT 1.90 on my FireBee.

Turned out that it didn't like that I ran the installation program from the SD-card. After copying it to the internal CompactFlash and running it from there, the installation worked fine.

SDL status and download link?

I've been hoping to port some code I've written to my FireBee using gcc and SDL, but I have been unable to locate suitable SDL development libraries. Can somebody please provide me a link to the latest SDL for FireBee or Atari computers in general? Also, if somebody could give me some brief informat...

Slow/choppy response from Bash

Hi, I'm having a problem with the output in Bash getting stalled for a second or so at a time. This is most evident when I've typed some text and then hold backspace to erase it all. The text disappears in steps of approximately 10 characters at a time. Is there any way to get around this? It makes ...

Re: Keyboard Setup

Hi Joska, Yes, I understand the problem of using Alt-key combos for characters and that I'm asking for trouble that way. What I failed to mentioned is that I have also mapped the same characters as Alt-Shift combos, so that if I can't get the character with AltGr+key on the keyboard (which is transl...

Thing 1.27 crashing

Hi, recently Thing 1.27 has started to crash on me. It didn't do that before, but now it's enough that I move around and resize the windows to create a crash within a minute. I have not made any changes that I can think of that would affect. I've been playing around with Video Modes and restarted th...

Proper way to install Unix commandline tools?

What is the recommended "proper" way to install Vincent's compiled packages of popular Unix tools under the standard MiNT configuration that comes preloaded with the FireBee? I've been playing around and looking for information and as far as I understand I need to put the packages on D: an...

Re: Keyboard Setup

Thanks for your help Joska. I have finally managed to get the keyboard working the way that I want in MiNT. One key factor may or may not have been that I changed the keyboard layout in the control panel to Swedish before I continued tweaking in KeyEdit. I'm not sure if it did anything, but after th...

Re: 1680x1050 resolution not listed

Actually, I tried now with a different monitor but the same cable and VGA-DVI converter and it did correctly detect a working best resolution. So there is no problem with the way the monitor was connected, it is either an issue with the detection software or the monitor. The monitor is an HP w2007v ...

Keyboard Setup

Things are moving along quite well for me and my FireBee, but now I have run into trouble configuring my USB keyboard. I use KeyEdit to configure the keyboard layout to resemble the one I'm used to and is printed on the keys (Swedish PC keyboard). Most things works well, but the FireBee doesn't seem...

Re: 1680x1050 resolution not listed

Thanks joska for replying. Hopefully you can figure something out from the information below: The radio buttons for Best and Recommended resolution are both greyed out. The value for best resolution says "0123456789012345678901234" while the greyed out drop-down list for Recommended says &...

1680x1050 resolution not listed

Hi, I'm trying to hook up my FireBee to my old 22" HP LCD monitor. It only has a VGA-port which I'm using through a DVI->VGA converter. My problem is that the native resolution of the monitor (1680x1050) is not listed at all. All other kinds of weird resolutions, both higher and lower are liste...

Wow, that was two quick answers! =)

The magnetic scrolls adventures goes to jok who answered first and offered me a nice deal.

Starglider 2 is still up for grabs if greatguy doesn't want it.

Greatguy: I'm sending you a private message with an offer.

A few games for sale...

I've got a few ST adventure games that need a new home. They are all complete, with boxes in great shape, except for Fish where the box has been squashed a bit. They have all the original content such as manuals, gimmicks and in some cases audio tapes with soundtracks or extra material for the game....

Re: Connect a PC keyboard to an STE?

This looks like you don't have any PC at home and therefore you need to do all this crazy stuff incl. programming your own text editor.... Unless this is really true (what I doubt), I'd recommend to focus on the actual development and use normal cross tools with transferring the result via floppy d...

I might cause you insanity by saying this, but Paulo Simoes have optimized the Lance! player a bit last spring and corrected some bugs. Believe it or not, Lance himself woke up as well :) So, the stuff you and Mårten optimized to death 20 years ago is beaten, heh. Here's Lances input to Paulo: http...

Hi simbo2, Thanks for the links, it seems to be a doable solution and I will look into it later this week. Good that those things exist. Hej Evil! :) Yes, it was about 18 years ago I stopped using Ataris and I'm not sure how long my renewed interest will last, but at least I'm here for the moment. N...
