Re: Sound distortion with vsync_adjust=2

Hmm, I double checked and actually I heard some distortion in Ms Pacman and Pacman Club ! I don't know why I didn't spot any in the original Pacman.

There are quite a few games affected by this. "gaplus" is for instance. If needed I could make a comprehensive list !

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Hmm, maybe that's subjective... Do you feel some kind of subtle input lag when using the mouse ? (I have absolutely none when using gamepads)

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

@Witchmaster Do you have the latest version? It used to be jerky, but Sorgerlig has fixed that problem. Are you possibly running a PAL config with 60Hz video output? Top Yep latest version, PAL (actually using DBLNTSC on the Workbench to get a higher resolution and the proper ratio for Whdload Newic...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Hi ! Did you people also notice the mouse movement under the Workbench is difficult to master / inconsistent / kinda jerky ?

I tried different mouses. I don't remember it was that way on a real Amiga but I may be mistaken.

Sound distortion with vsync_adjust=2

Hi everyone ! I had noticed that sometimes, with some cores, I had some sound distortion (audio "jitter", like some random buffer underruns, I don't know how to explain but it's pretty obvious when it happens). I've just figured out it actually only happens when using "vsync_adjust=2&...

Re: Arcade cores

@Sorgelig : OK, no problem. Actually I kinda "worked around this" by remapping my 2 arcade sticks so that the first ones moves the character and the second one is used for aiming. I have to do it each time but that's OK as I guess there are only a handful (one ?) persons interested in this...

Re: Arcade cores

Hi ! Regarding the Robotron core, is it possible (I mean, without having to remap every time :-) to use 2 USB controllers to map "movements" on the first one and "shooting direction" on the second one ? (OK, the only usecase I think of is the case you use the MiSTer in a arcade c...

Re: Scanlines and Resolution

Hi ! You need to set vscale_mode=1 to force an integer scaling (regardless of the resolution used), which will add margins around the picture. Scanlines will look much better and scrollings will be absolutely perfect. You don't need (and probably shouldn't) alter the screen resolution. It seems you ...

Re: MiSTer frontend future

@boogermann : Hmm, BTW, I guess no one wants to turn the MiSTer into a features freak, etc etc. but if you release a VGM music player, it would be cool if you could also just browse the filesystem to play MP3s & FLACs, why not MIDs and MODs... And why not MP3 streams too... Okay, I know, it's no...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Hi ! User question : when using a 1080p mode and an integer scaling factor, most cores use a large enough portion of the screen which is IMHO a nice compromise in terms of size & blockiness. (around 40 cm diagonal on my 24" screen for instance). The Amiga core, probably due to the maximum r...

Re: Audio output via gpio pins

Slight offtopic : any feedback on the DAC quality of the IO board compared to for instance using the line out of an HDMI monitor ?

On the Raspberry I always bought hifi DACs and that was IMHO significantly better.

Hi ! Kinda appreciate the ScummVM port too, as a nice bonus. As my MiSTer is my only gaming machine (and actually the only machine I try to keep in the main room -- trying not to get too polluted with screens with the kids and for myself too) it enables me to play games that have a bad Amiga port (o...

@BBond007 : you may be interested in trying those soundtracks : http://gansweith.freehostia.com/midi/MT-32-MIDIFILES/ They clearly don't play properly from Minimig + Munt unfortunately. Yes, I did try several MIDI players (midiplay, the camd library player, and others, which supposedly support SysEx...

Hi ! - are "sysex" supported when using Munt on the Amiga side ? I tried several MIDI players from Aminet which are supposed to support sysex and the MT-32. I tried to throw the Dune 1 and Dune 2 MT-32 Midis at them and it clearly sounded very bad / kinda random at times and off all the ti...
