Re: LZ4 decoder (assembler)

Apart from the 4k binary Cyprian tried, has anyone done any other tests regarding pack ratio? I'm still favouring ARJ mode 4 and 7 for max pack ratio, but this looks like a great alternative for when depack speed is crucial. Regarding packing ratio, if you're looking for best ratio ever, use shrink...

Re: Removing a mighty sonic board

To disable the original CPU you have to lift off CPU pin 16 and lift off pin 17 too and put pin17 to GND. To activate the old original CPU you have to resolder CPU pin16 to the Mainboard CPU16 pad and CPU pin17 do the same ... Yup I looked into it. It seemed to be under some glue, and the cpu is no...

frank.lukas wrote:Not so easy ...

There are two pins from the original CPU lift off and 9 wire solder in the Mainboard. Take a look into the DOITF030 ...

Would this imply I need to get a new 68030 cpu to replace the old one?

Desoldering the wires seem something that is achievable.

Removing a mighty sonic board

Ola, I recently became a (humble) owner of an atari falcon. I found that it currently has a mighty sonic board (32mhz cpu and up to 32mb fastram).

Im still a total falcon noob, and am wondering how easy it is to remove this board.

Any ideas?

My reaearch have found me 5 things; 1. Gbs board, converts rgb to vga: pro: 50fps conversion, cheap, con: some small quality artefacts, very slight delay 2. Scart to hdmi converter; pro: excellent quality, cheap, con: 25 fps conversion rate, slight delay 3. Retrotink: composite to vga conversion, pr...

Re: efficient polygon drawing

I think most of the things that are important are already mentioned by Daniel. In terms of speed, most cpu time is usually spend on the filling. This can be done horizontally (per scanline) or vertically (per y-block). Pulse contains both a xorfiler (for the cube) and a hline filler (for the tunnel)...

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

Hahaha. So basically the VGA to HDMI converter doesnt solve anything really. Apart from that your display device may have different tolerances for HDMI than VGA input; so this works IF your display device can handle 15khz HDMI.

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

Thanks for confirming that the vga>hdmi works at 50hz output. I have just ordered one to add to my collection of converters. The VGA > HDMI converter I already have does not produce any output. Im interested to see if this one does in my case!

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

All those cheap HDMI converters; I've bought a ton of them and none have done 50 Hz motion. They have either dropped every second field of the PAL signal or added a de-interlace that merges fields. Either way, the end result is 25 Hz motion. Not good enough. Excuse my lack of proper eyesight :) - s...

Am I right that the site (http://www.julien-nevo.com/arkostracker ... /download/) does not offer a 2.0.0.3a version (latest I rpesume) build for Mac OSX? If so, would you be willing and able to make a latest build?
