Re: New book release: Beyond The Borders [The Atari ST and The Creative People vol.2]

My copy arrived yesterday, and I absolutely love it. The first was amazing too. Great work, and thank you, it's a wonderful product packed with info, and the liberal use of high quality colour pictures is exceptional. Although I understand the comment about the writing style, as a native English spe...

Re: STNICCC 2015

All my own tunes - I was a great fan of Quartet at the time. The sample used on 'Scarborough Fayre' was my own voice, inspired by the 'toot' vocal sound used by Jarre throughout Zoolook. Nothing new in there lotek, you have all these already. However, I do still have a box of demos I wrote - I was u...

STNICCC 2015

A little late as an observer, but I just finished watching the video of the STNICCC 2015 event (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga4pR9b_WWg - for those who haven't seen it, I doubt there are many who haven't) and I was completely blown away by it. Seeing so many names that are part of the fabric of ...

Combined with the floppy audio, this totally rocks. Awesome feature :-)

Re: Music Construction Set

Thank you Mug UK - that's awesome, and works great. You made my day :-)

Charles - thank you for the offer, I had an original boxed copy for years but sadly it didn't survive my last house move!

Music Construction Set

Hi all,

I've desperately been trying to track down a copy of Electronic Arts Music Construction Set. If anyone has a working image, please could you post it here? I have a whole pile of stuff I wrote in it way back and I'm unable to find anything to extract it with.

Many thanks!

Re: Libix

I'd love to hear how you find it. It's a little idiosyncratic for sure, I was only 19-24 when I wrote this, (and I'm 43 now!). I've been thinking a lot about revisiting it to tidy up some loose ends. Not for the wider audience but for my own satisfaction really. Now that I've got a working PC (I've ...

Re: Libix

Not before, but around the same time. I was independently developing LIBIX around the time that Eric Smith was working on MiNT. I did exchange a couple of mails (via my University UNIX account) with Eric while I was a student, probably in about '91 or '92 during which time he sent me a beta version ...

Re: Some simple routines with source

Cheers, Lotek... and there is no reason you would have seen any of my work before now really. As I said, I was just an inspired young coder watching the cool demos from the well known crews and trying to emulate it to some extent. I never really put anything out there for people to see, just swapped...

Libix

Hi all, So, as promised in another thread, here is LIBIX. What is LIBIX, you ask? LIBIX was a big project I did for my degree back in the late 80s, and tinkered with a bit after that. Sadly, it never quite reached the point of maturity where I could release it, so there are some shortcomings. It is ...

Re: Salute!

Lol, a long time in replying but thanks guys! I just posted a post to this forum with 4 disk images attached to it. Assuming it gets approved by mods, then you are welcome to check out some of my early attempts at doing 'demo' type code. It's nothing earth shattering, but it's original, comes with f...

Some simple routines with source

Hey all, So after absolutely ages, I finally got down from the attic a bog box of my old floppies. I'm struggling a bit with a USB floppy drive on Windows at the moment, but I've actually ordered a replacement floppy for my real 1040ST (also in the attic!) which, I am hoping, will enable me to read ...

Salute!

42 year old 68000 assembly freak here. I implemented an unreleased project called 'Libix' which is a pure 68k assembly language shell+GUI menu system that I wrote for the ST as a Minix environment clone for my degree dissertation in 1991, plus a number of unreleased demo routines doing the normal sc...
