Re: Dead F030 count

Same as ggn: a CT2 (CT2a iirc) equipped machine used to work fine but doesn‘t anymore. No signal in both modes. IIRC it had a limbo state where only the non accelerated mode worked. Didn‘t investigate further, but will do. Thats the first Falcon I‘ve seen failing completely (and I personally poured ...

Re: Different SHIFTER versions

Just a quick status update. I don‘t have the traces yet (ah, the joys of getting sidetracked!) but I plan to bring the IMP board etc. to Nordlicht party and do traces there. There’s nothing like a quiet partyplace to do these things ;)
Monday there shall be traces.

Re: Different SHIFTER versions

Here's a first baseline test with the 38A shifter in a non-IMP environment (100Mhz sampling, beginning of a solid green desktop line): 38a_la.png Now that the Test Clip is set up, churning out more traces gets pretty easy and changing the shifter is a matter of seconds. Let me know if these traces a...

Re: Different SHIFTER versions

Wow. Thanks a lot for the videos, really very nice! You‘re welcome :) GLUE wakestates might be relevant on Closure because as Troed is saying, he uses different code paths depending on the detected wakestate. But on Alien's scroll, it is almost certain that what matters is the SHIFTER wakestate. I ...

Re: Different SHIFTER versions

The additional screen corruptions in the 260 are strange, have to retest that, too. Screen artefacts and bands are the same between that 260 and the captured MB. The camera I took the screenshots with did blend 2 frames, that‘s why the bands aren‘t clearly visible. Btw, it is possible to fit a ZIF ...

Re: Different SHIFTER versions

Here are a few quick video captures (50Hz, no sound, direct ST RGB feed). All done on same MB with -38 and re-verified to run OK with -38A. Unfortunately I didn't log the respective wakestates. PYM: Closure Intro (two different power cycles, didn't check Wakestate): Closure other parts: Closure fail...

Re: Different SHIFTER versions

Btw, it is possible to fit a ZIF socket into a regular socket, or it can only be soldered? You can squeeze them in, but that probably damages the original sockets‘ contacts (the ZIFs pins are pretty wide). I did that on this particular test MB since I don‘t plan to remove the ZIF. tin - if that 260...

Re: Different SHIFTER versions

Thanks a lot for the test! You‘re welcome - I have one MB rigged with a ZIF socket just for shifter tests like this :) Had to do this test on two differrent machines for now though, will retest with the same motherboard ASAP. It doesn't work or the video is corrupted? Can you describe in which way,...

Re: Different SHIFTER versions

Interresting. It indeed does not work with the C025914-38 shifter (tested on an 260 ST). Never noticed that. Works fine on 38A though (obviously).

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

Hello, this is an example from my real STe with Expresstech @ SCART>HDMI (amazon) and video captured with a Avermedia PCIe HDMI. The capture unfortunately seems to have a 25Hz cap somewhere in your conversion chain - Youtube states it is 720p50 but it's source was 25 hz. That way it's hard to judge...

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

A quick test with the described esynic VGA=>HDMI adapter went fairly well. Like StEeLz‘ tests suggested, the conversion transports full, true 50Hz, not just two blended 25Hz fields (like all(?) other HDMI converters do). Still have to test 60Hz and the overscan coverage. Tested this with a Mega ST a...

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

@Snowden: did you try evils flicker test? Your box looks a lot like one I have here - and my own flicker test showed that it does not do 50 Hz (although it says in its overlay that it does). It‘s sometimes hard to distinguish 50 from 25 Hz w/o flicker test.

Call for (technical) questions - interview with YM creator

This is a summary from: http://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=31610&p=321179#p321154 Probably better to get this into it's own topic instead of derailing that one even further. There's a (small series) of interviews planned with the YM designer: https://twitter.com/inversephase/status/...

We probably get a second extra technical interview:
https://twitter.com/inversephase/status ... 7199906818
And also worth mentioning:

So there's more time to collect questions. Thanks alot for your help, Steven!

Re: Mounting cifs share to Windows 2012 R2 in domain

IIRC the ce_main app mounts on it's own for several reasons (see https://github.com/atarijookie/ce-atari/blob/master/ce_main_app/mounter.cpp method mountShared), so there is no usual mount script involved. Until the possibility to set options via ce_conf.prg is implemented, you could try a rather ug...

Meanwhile you can record my previous attachment . The idea is that the record must be long enough to have 2 silenced part in it (that's when the YM and the timer are in opposite phase). The sample resolution can be very minimum only the sampling rate matter. I hope it'll be fairly compressible. OK,...

Re: MFP / CPU clock ratio

Which one of these prgs do you need to have sampled? I have an somewhat OK ADC connected to an ST for the sole purpose of measuring it. Half an hour would of course result in an >300MB 16 Bit 96kHz sample, but if you insist, I could do the sample :)
