Re: Announcing ready to use freemint sd card images for the ST

And if you want to play on FreeMiNT, all the HD adapted games that I tested from http://klapauzius.net/ work, except the builtin memory snapshoting feature. From the PP HD adapted games, the 4 or 5 I tested would not start. After booting ST Mint on a 4 MB ST, you have 1MB Free RAM, so you cannot pla...

Re: GEM Image Viewers

A bit of thread necrobumping, I had a look at vision, as I also wanted an Image Viewer for my ste, it works very well, has internationalization, and is still developped. GUI is a bit cranked in ST LOW, in ST HIGH it is very pleasant to use, I regret I was using mgif all these years ! http://jlusetti...

Re: Vertical white stripes when using a ST to VGA cable

I haven't found a solution yet because I've been too lazy to change the PSU. Why I don't understand is by using the Atari SM124 CRT, the build is absolutely perfect and crystal clear. I *love* that display ! Also using a RGB SCART connector on a flat screeen, I have none of these vertical stripes, a...

Re: CosmosEx and VanillaMint

Trouble with MagiC and FreeMiNT is that they replace GEMDOS. Which CE_DD is bending to its needs. It's on the TODO list but as usual, spare time is the issue here. There is this build flag, -DOLDTOSFS, which builds a Mint Kernel using the GEMDOS fs instead of the Mint own FAT driver maybe that coul...

Unable to boot TT emulation with tos 3.0.6

Hi I wanted to boot Hatari in TT emulation mode, and I cannot get to the desktop. Logo Display and ST/TT RAM Test come fine, and afterwards I get two bombs, the mouse cursor is at that point the well know bee, but nothing mores. I am using the Tos UK ROM from https://www.atariworld.org/tos-rom/. Thi...

Re: COPS french documentation

Documentation LGTM, but it says in couple of places that wdialog.prg is required with Atari TOS and old magic versions.
It is still the case ? I read on freemint-discuss you wanted to make COPS work without it.

Re: Announcing ready to use freemint sd card images for the ST

A small bump to mention I have released ST Mint 1.2 The biggest change is that now there is a working unix shell, the MirBSD Korn Shell, the same shell which ships on Android Phones. After booting on a 4MB ST, there is still one megabyte of RAM available. Enough to play the klapauzius adapted Defende...

Associate built in Text Viewer with TXT files in Teradesk / Xaaes and TOS

Hi When doubling clicking a TXT file, with Xaaes and Freemint, I would like the Txt file to be displayed straight away in the builtin viewer of the Desktop, instead of having to click SHOW each time: https://framapic.org/piQJ2xoxvzon/g8n1MAIH63vV I know I can associate extensions with programms in T...

Re: Cross Compiling GEMDOS program: how to read the content of a directory ?

No, you should be able to safely include osbind.h only and call GEMDOS as usual. I do this even for programs with even less C library, not even libcmini. Check out https://github.com/simonsunnyboy/stlibs4gcc/blob/master/wizzcat/main.c It doesn't use Fsfirst() or so but Fopen and go to read files wi...

Cross Compiling GEMDOS program: how to read the content of a directory ?

Hi I wanted to start developing text TOS programs, using the gcc crosscompiler from Vincent, and libcmini. I am following this guide https://info-coach.fr/atari/software/_development/cmanship-v1.0.pdf and testing locally via hatari. Using this toolchain I can build small C programs using standard li...

Re: Minix 2.0.2 and 2.0.4 sources adapted for the Atari ST

There sources are self hosted, so you would need a Minix system to start.
There are install floppies and disk images availaible on the internet of Minix 1.6, 1.6.2, and 2.0.2
( I am just the archiver here)

Re: Hatari 1.9 and Minix: it just works

mikesmith wrote:Hatari can log printer output to a file, and it closes and opens the file when you disable and re-enable printer logging. So create the logging file, enable logging, then under Minix, use tar to write to the printer device:

# cd /usr
# tar cf /dev/lp include src

This is why I love Unix.

Re: Hatari 1.9 and Minix: it just works

hej mike, can you share Volkers' source tree on something like https://send.firefox.com/ ?
Minix 2 is BSD licensed, so sharing is not a problem :)

also how did you extract it via parallel port emulation in Hatari ? very curious !

Re: Hatari 1.9 and Minix: it just works

Success... Hatari's printer port emulation works with Minix 2.0.2 and I was able to extract the source trees that way. If there's a good place to host these archives, please let me know. It'd be a shame to waste Volker's hard work. Yes let's keep this online ! I would suggest to open an account on ...

What about cross compiling ? It would solve the flaky hardware problem :) Everything I use in ST Mint was crosscompiled, and works fine. I don't know if it possible to crossbuilds rpms but it's possible for debian packages: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/172500/how-to-cross-build-a-debian-...

Re: a simple way to hide all Mist/Mister posts

Is the problem with the Mist board related to the profusion of Megadrive and Oric Atmos Posts ? Or is this about the FGPA idea in general ? I see personally the Mist/FGPA as the future of atari computing, even if I do not own one, and I would be sad if the atari core relevant threads would have to g...

Re: What are the current ST equivalent hardware replacements available?

Well I think everything is in the AtariSTRoadmap: https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-boar ... iSTRoadmap

I just bought a BenQ BL702A for my ST, knowing it can work with the MiST in its native 1280*1024 resolution :)

There is also a FGPA Subboard about the MiST in this forum.

Re: What are the current ST equivalent hardware replacements available?

I only know of the MiST, with Midi Ports and a Steroids Mode with monochrome 1280x1024, 14MB of RAM, it is a nice ST replacement I think :)

I am considering myself buying one.
