Re: Dual monitor setup?

A lot of LCD's will do that with the Falcon, they don't all used fixed frequencies, blubb is one of them. ST's do, so less drama. I use Asus LCD's and they do the same thing at the same time, they also display frequency changes. If a part of the demo flashes past with frequency change you won't see ...

Re: Atari Falcon Eagle add-in module

It isn't always about blinding speed, at least, not for me. If I run ST software on the CT2 it runs like a turbo charged, Viagra infused hot rod. I'm ok with the speed I get from that. CT60 would be nice, but not that necessary. I sort of see it as missing out on 2% of Atari software. If that makes ...

No apology needed, mate. I spent a lot of time faffing around with it when I had it. If I told you its whole history you'd probably cry. :D

Have you benched it?

Re: TT030 HD Floppy Format TOS 3.06

I have a STFM I did a HD upgrade hack on, it has Tos 1.04. I used to have a boot floppy that had a HD cookie driver. It worked a treat. You could do the same with any machine as far as I am aware, the jumper only enables the cookie for TOS. Reminds me I have to upgrade the ROM in my TOS 4.01 Falcon....

Same with MegaSTe I think, TOS 2.05 and DD. My second Mega had 2.05 and HD though.

Re: Atari Falcon Eagle add-in module

Now I remember, the CT2 is 32 bit RAM address, Eaglesonic is still 16 bit. Mightysonic had the fast RAM. I have to say this is one of the most bizarre discussions I have had. If it works, leave it, if it doesn't, it is bloody easy to remove. To complain it breaks compatibility rules out nearly every...

Re: Atari Falcon Eagle add-in module

Weird. When I was running it I never had any drama's. It doesn't overclock the bus, it is just a 32mhz CPU from what I remember. It isn't anything like power up, it is closer to the CT2 with no bus mod. The eagle sonic has its own 32mhz CPU on board, powerup doesn't. I repaired this board myself 20+...

Re: Atari Falcon Eagle add-in module

Mighty sonic, Eagle sonic card. It has a 32Mhz PGA 68030 CPU. Made by GE soft. I installed that card about twenty years ago into that very machine. :D

I have a vague recollection that it is full 32 bit, but I could be wrong. Benching it, it should match a TT.

Disney are nothing if not consistent. They distort the truth in a lot of their productions.

I never did get too far into Lemmings, I was more a Civilization kind of megalomaniac. :-)

Atari packs

I've been cleaning up and finding piles and piles of manuals etc. What I can't find is a list of what disks/manuals were provided with which packs/boxes etc. I have piles of them, ST Computer, ST Basic source book + quick reference, 1st Word, Logo source book and a few others. And a few singles, Meg...

I bought a dead Falcon for $50. Fixed a broken trace and Voila. That doesn't really count though. :-) And yup, CT2 still running with 128MB and a 20gig Seagate HDD.

Re: CT2B Flash 1.41 English

Aha, that explains my RAM problem. I couldn't really understand the response I got from Rudolph when I was playing with firmware. I have a 64mb and a 128mb module. The 64 would detect as 32 on FW greater than 1.32 and I asked him why. He said that up to 1.32 was the best one. Which I though that was...

Re: How to access Wizztronics 256 ram - SIOtoPC via USB+ RespeQT/AspeQt

That is a huge question. :D Lots. It comes down to what games or programs support it. There are probably many, I couldn't tell you what they are. I have only just dug my Superam 800XL out and TBH, I just use a stock 130XE for the most part. I'm not sure if there is a general list of programs and DOS...

Re: How to access Wizztronics 256 ram - SIOtoPC via USB+ RespeQT/AspeQt

If the wizztronics ram isn't 130XE compatible, you might not be able to. Bank switching on different machines and upgrades can differ. I have a Superram upgrade in my 800XL and it isn't 130XE compatible. It is application dependent. If the game knows about your particular type of ram upgrade, it wil...

Re: Recommended accelerator options for ST

There are 020 accelerators that kick around, but they aren't that common. 030's accelerators are rarer than rocking horse doo doo. I'm not sure why Exxos managed to get more out of the STe, there are a few threads on the subject and he has a forum on his website that explains it. I think he is worki...

Exxos makes accelerators for the machines you have. https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/last/storenew/ Next step would be to to use ppera's hard drive adapted games, this will sort compatibility out. http://atari.8bitchip.info/fromhd2.php Running stock/original games may be an issue as not all are wri...

Re: faulty video output stfm

G'day, video shifters should be the same across the board. Check the CO number. My first thought would be PSU. I have been working on two mega's doing the same thing. Turned out the PSU was failing. Recap might fix it.
