Re: Tool to dump STe ROM?

I have just made a video to demonstrate the usage of PaCifiST's DUMP_ROM.PRG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXLdPy8eqEg Maybe some day AtariZoll's TOSDUMP1.TOS will have a nice UI and will become the new standard  GUI, come on man ! That will eat whole 20 KB of RAM :D Hmm. but in other hand...

Re: Hatari 2.0.0 has been released

Yes, I can not communicate - because you are unable to ask simple thing - when and how to reach point in DM where can hear sampled sound  If you don't like games maybe should think that here we talk about testing SW, on your SW. That people can not read minds, but can see when something not...

Re: Hard 'n' Heavy improved, final update

Hi Peter, I tested the game on my real TT (4mb ST RAM) with and without cache as requested in the readme. Cache on: works fine. Scrolling is very smooth and no problems. Cache off: Apart from the expected slower pace, the lower ~2 bricks screen level and below would every second or two 'shudder' an...

Re: Hatari 2.0.0 has been released

The problem here is that you ask some things that I do, while you can check/test in less time than you write it down here. How much time is needed to run Starglider for 20 secs in ST(E), Falcon, TT emulation modes ? OK, I did it - In STE mode sample playback was flawless. In Falcon mode game worked ...

Re: Hatari 2.0.0 has been released

More long talk, this time with little anger :D So, I did more tests, and got some surprises: Instead Windows 7 tried it in Win 8.1 - and 'miracle' - that SDL2 build worked. However, CPU load was not better, contrary, it was worse than SDL1 build. Another surprise: SDL1 build had less CPU load than i...

Re: Hatari 2.0.0 has been released

This will be longer. You have been warned :D Well. I did not have so many problems with Ubuntu in 4 years together as in last 24 hours. After I installed 16.04.03 LTS on place of problematic 16.04.xx I went on testing Hatari under Linux. Just to mention here that most likely reason for not working S...

Re: Hatari 2.0.0 has been released

Re: Hatari 2.0.0 has been released

Running TT mode without cfg file resulted in same behavior. This GTBT.WAE is with samplerate of 50066 Hz. There is no much distortion, but if you listen carefully, there will be some jumps during playback like jumping couple secs ahead . Unless you tested on Linux and problem appears only in Win. v....

Re: Hatari 2.0.0 has been released

Yes, please can you post the DMA playback pogram so I can try it ? Here is it: http://atari.8bitchip.info/TestMe/STEAPL.ZIP Program self is short, but there is proper format audio file what it can play - 50066 Hz, stereo, delta packing . 25033 Hz is supported too. It works well with Hatari 2.0.0 in...

Re: Hard 'n' Heavy improved, final update

I was able to find what causes game not working on TT, with help of Hatari 2.0.0 with console debugger. Some really weird, and I dare to say stupid PSG coding. Fix was easy - only that I needed some time to come back from shock  Here is simple v., may run from hard drive on TT, it is complete g...

Re: Hatari 2.0.0 ... - sound issues on TT emul.

Yes, it is 1 year from release now, and I went only now in dealing with Hatari 2.0.0's TT emulation. Just was too busy with other things, not only Atari related. So, as I see PMMU emulation is pretty good now, what is great improvement, especially for my game adaptations. Tried couple games, and the...

Re: Apollo Team announces developing of Vampire standalone version to run as AMIGA and ATARI ST

This is a silly discussion. The fact that MiNT does not replace everything in TOS does not mean it's not a "proper" OS. Does that mean that TOS+NVDI is not a "proper" OS? EmuTOS+MiNT? EmuTOS was written specifically to boot MiNT without TOS. What about those odd operating system...

Re: Apollo Team announces developing of Vampire standalone version to run as AMIGA and ATARI ST

... and MagiC? MagiC have it's own "ROM". How much MagiC relay on TOS? Nothing. You can use MagiC as standalone OS - when replacing org. TOS ROM chips with those which hold Magic, ROM version. And of course, even MagiC RAM uses not built in TOS . But of course, MagiC is made to be TOS com...

Re: "NEOLoad" Neochrome <-> Bitmap image converter

BMP, uncompressed is pretty much simple and straight format. I made in C conversion from 4 bit 320x200 BMP, what is always 32118 bytes, to Atari ST PI1 format, and all it is some 40 lines of C code. Conversion to NEO format needs only different header. So, doing reverse conversion, for NEO or PI1 to...

Re: "NEOLoad" Neochrome <-> Bitmap image converter

I don't see as some bigger flaw saving in 24-bit (16M colors) of Atari screens, pictures. If it is only 16 color, conversion to 4-bit format is trivial, and 100% accurate. Things are that 24-bit format dominates now. As I know you can not add some palette/original colors info to 24-bit BMP, because ...

Re: "NEOLoad" Neochrome <-> Bitmap image converter

Thanx Joefish. Works very well. I do color reduction and other processing mostly with Paintshop Pro 9 (Latest pre-Adobe v.) . There is Optimized Median Cut and Optimized Octree for it, + some dithering options (but that's not really good for today LCD monitors). So, yes, I don't think that you need ...

That could work. Another way is to not reset emulator after setting hard disk image file. You need then to run runnable hard disk driver at Desktop - from floppy image or from GEMDOS partition.

Re: STEEM new user

In Steem GEMDOS type hard disk emulation (so assigning some Windows DIR as partition) works only with regular TOS versions. Not with Magic. It even works not when TOS is in RAM - for instance set via SELTOS or RAMTOS . What is there is only drive bit set in system variables - that's why can put driv...

Re: STe upgrade to TOS 2.06 question

I was reading about that, i was interested in making it switchable between some early version and 2.06. 2.06 is good so far but i'm sure there are some incompatibilities, also, it takes much longer to boot. I don't do any gaming on my STe, so i'm not sure there is really any benefit to having it sw...
