Re: Hatari on Pi Zero?

Thanks for the advice, but it turns out I didn't need to do anything so drastic. I flashed the latest version of Retropie, and was delighted to discover that Hatari is running MUCH better now. I did get some slowdowns on a couple of games I tried; the intro music for 'Hunter' is much slower that it ...

Re: Hatari on Pi Zero?

Yes, that's exactly what it is - the Zero is basically a pre-overclocked Pi 1. How strange that the Zero can't cope with the ST, considering all the other systems that run fine on it, some of which are more technically advanced than the ST. I was hoping there would be some tweaks that I could make, ...

Hatari on Pi Zero?

Has anyone had any luck getting Hatari to run on a Pi Zero? I have used it through Retropie, and it almost works, but it's just a little too choppy to be usable. I have a feeling that it could work with some tweaking, after all, my PSP can emulate the ST just fine, and that's way less powerful. Has ...

ST Format Magazine

I apologize if this is the wrong area of the forum to post this, but I couldn't really find a suitable category. Is there an online source for ST Format magazine? I have found several sites that have some of the issues, but diwnloading them one by one from different places is a real chore, and the s...

Re: Hatari on tablet device

Additional info about the Ouya post above: I got the on screen keyboard working by selecting 'Old Android hardware mouse behaviour' in the input menu. This allowed me to use the Ouya's mouse pointer to click keys on the virtual keyboard. Unfortunately, selecting this option breaks ST mouse control, ...

Re: Help me remember a Sci Fi game?

No, it wasn't Alien Breed.

I'm pretty sure it was more of a strategy/puzzle-solving/adventure type of game than a shooter.

Help me remember a Sci Fi game?

I've been trying to find a game for some time now with no luck. I must be remembering some details wrong, because I know that this game was quite a big deal when it came out, yet my Google searches have been fruitless. Here's what I remember: It was a sci fi game, and involved you being on a space s...

Re: Hatari on tablet device

I'd just like to report success in getting this to run on my Ouya. In addition to the steps above, you need to enable the hardware mouse mode thingy in the input menu. I can't recall exactly what it was called, and I can't get my wife off Rick Dangerous long enough to check :D This is necessary so t...

Re: Hatari on tablet device

What a bizarre thing for them to do! Why wouldn't they allow writing to the secondary sd card?

Anyway, I made a new saves folder on the internal 'sd card' and it works perfectly, thanks :)

Re: Hatari on tablet device

I agree- Hatari on the Nvidia Shield is amazing! One problem that I have recently started experiencing though is save states not saving. I suspect that my Shield has updated itself, because I know that this feature used to work. My current Android version is 4.4.2 I have tried saving both to the int...

Re: Hatari on tablet device

Syncing the two pointers would be just fine. I've actually tried to do this by adjusting the atari pointer speed in the settings. Two pointers wouldn't matter at all, the only problem I'm having is that one or other of the pointers reaches the edge of the screen before the other, which makes it a li...

Re: Hatari on tablet device

@Jamesbeat A backup of the apk should be fine. On the ouya, do you have the following option in your system menu: - Developer options -> Don't keep activities? Can you try making sure it is disabled (not ticked) and see if that fixes the issue? Yup, seems to work now, at least I can access the file...

Re: Hatari on tablet device

Has anyone tried sideloading Hataroid onto the Ouya? I just did, but with only partial success. I couldn't find the .apk, so I made a backup from my Xperia Play using Titanium Backup. Perhaps this was what caused the problem? Here's what happened: It asked for the tos.img, but when I clicked 'ok' to...

Re: Hatari on tablet device

I'm certainly no expert, but a shortcut may be to just emulate the keypresses that can be used on a real ST to move the pointer without a mouse. Is it Alt and the arrow keys or something? That may prove to be difficult to use, as I'm not sure if diagonals are possible, and it would make the 'key cli...

Re: Hatari on tablet device

I just want to say a huge thank you for this! I've been struggling along with Stoid, but it's awful. No matter what I tried, I just couldn't get the keyboard to register numbers, so I was stuck on the menu on most disks. I found Hataroid through this site via a Google search, not by searching in the...

CaSTaway on PSP - Please Help!

It's an oldie but a goody; I have a PSP which I use as a portable emulation handheld. I haven't really found any other handhelds that seem worth upgrading to at present, and my PSP does a great job for the most part. Unfortunately, I am having trouble with the ST emulator, CaSTaway. This is a big de...

Re: Is there a trained version of Interphase?

PPera has interphase in his archive did you try his version? http://atari.8bitchip.info/fromhd.php Perfect! It does indeed have an infinite energy trainer, plus a level select function (though it's not clear whether both can be used at once). I don't want the level select, as I want to complete it ...

'Bombing out' easter egg: bombs explode

Please help, this is driving me nuts! I remember that I used to have a game (or it could have been a demo) that had a weird easter egg in it. I can't remember exactly how you got it to happen, but I think it was either doing a soft reset or clicking 'quit' from a menu or something. Either way, you t...

Thanks, that's certainly pointed me in the right direction at least!

Am I right in thinking that, since Hatari uses the SDL library, I won't actually need X at all?

Re: Is there a trained version of Interphase?

Well I tried them, and unfortunately none of them are trained :(
One has a level select, but that didn't work (and level select is kinda moot when you have save states).

On the up side, I had no idea that website existed and it's a goldmine, so some good still came of it :)

Boot directly into Hatari?

I have an old laptop that I would like to make into an 'ST Book', ie. I'd like it to boot directly into Hatari, and preferably be able to be shut down simply by pressing the power button. I'm actually quite surprised that this type of thing is so uncommon, I would have thought there would be a lot o...
