Re: Writing RSC files in C

Actually after digging a bit more I found a version completely in C as well as executable.
When trying to run the executable APP it crashes but it might be possible to recompile it …
If you are interested the code can be found here https://www.seasip.info/Gem/gengem.html (source for GEM itself)

Re: Writing RSC files in C

Can you please provide or is it the same as the gembind.h from DRI In my case this was gem.h from gnu-c's gemlib, but you should be able to use other gem libraries too, as long as it defines the needed types (especially the CICONBLK structure might not be present in very old libraries). It would be...

Re: Writing RSC files in C

OK, if any of you is curious, I have made a test program. It is just a proof of concept, not a full fledged app... but it works. You can load a RSC file, go through all the strings and change (translate) the ones you want. When you're done you can save back to disk the new RSC file and use it... No...

Re: Writing RSC files in C

… Then the attached routines might help. They are simplified versions of ones i used in other programs, and i did only a quick check after the modifications, but they look ok. There is almost no error checking except for a failed fopen(), and especially the rsc_write() function assumes that all poi...

Re: Floppy Disk Stream Image Repository

I have transferred your image to the repository. But I will probably remove it as the image does not seems to be good.
As you can see on the following pictures side 2 has a lot of error in two areas.
Either you floppy is bad or it needs to be clean up. Try to clean and recreate image

Re: RSC EDITORS

Interesting this version is the same as the one from TheNameOfTheGame : i.e. the program is packed and same checksum This seems to indicate that indeed the prgram was distributed packed?! But strangely the RSC files is different? Doing an RSC compare with Interface shows that the two RSC are widely ...

Normally you are suppose to be able to do this with SCP. For Kryoflux you need an IPF file

Re: Interface RSC Editor - latest information in 2020

I made an interesting discovery: It seems that Interface does not correctly follow the recommendations for GEM programs, i.e. that all language-specific information be placed in the RSC file. This explains why when running a supposed English versions of Interface program, you still see quite a few t...

Re: RSC EDITORS

How do you unpack? Or can you provide th unpacked?
Looks like the provided archive is a dump of release disk. Why would they release a packed version of the program - plenty of space on the diskette?

Re: Interface RSC Editor - latest information in 2020

Thanks for the info :)
I will check/compare the content.
If you look also at viewtopic.php?f=14&t=29105&p=388292#p388292
Seems like there many many different versions of the program even under the same revision number this does not make too much sense

Re: RSC EDITORS

I just look (and tested) the content of IF230D1 and the interface executable is amazingly small 222 KB
This is to compare with the other "version 2.3" that all have size of 362KB

Re: RSC EDITORS

Would also be extremely nice if you could scan the document. It seems to be for version 2.3 and based on your location I assume it is in English :)

Seems to be in a binder so should not be to hard if you have a scanner and time
