Agree, but i believe that covers you on the MISTer boards.

As far as i know only Altair8800 core currently supports it.

Yes, true, not much that could be bad.

Re: RTC board

I'm building some RTC 1.3 boards.
Debating on whether to populate the temp sensor, as it drives the board cost up significantly.

Any thoughts on when/if the sensor will supported? My thought now is NOT to populate it, so people can have a less expensive clock option.

Thanks!

Re: I/O Board

Are there any known cores that output serial data on the I/O board v5.5 serial (USB) connector?
I have several boards made up, and I'd like to test this functionality before I ship them

Thanks!

A good flux cleaning job does seem to be correlated with better performance, at least on the Winbond ones I've been building.

Re: Help getting my ST out of the attic and hooked up to a modern LCD monitor

Anyway, I bought an NEC 19" MultiSync LCD1970VX. It'll be here in a few days. I need to order one of the Best Electronics' ST Multi Sync adapter cables and, assuming the monitor is good, I should be in great shape and I'll be able to use all three resolutions to boot. The NEC is a great choice...

One other silly thing to check.... make sure there isn't something amiss with the reset button. I've only seen it happen with a couple machines over the years, but it does happen.

Re: ST HDMI Out

You'll still need to make some sort of "frame start" signal out of Hsync and Vsync. If you don't, you'll be misaligned, and even if you do get aligned, it will drift. i was using Hsync to count lines, and just ran my output 2 scanlines behind the ST. (tho the overscan Hysnc oddities cause...

Re: ST HDMI Out

To be honest once the clock is locked, hsync doesn't matter. In fact I blew the hsync driver on my shifter by not noticing I'd shorted out the vsync and hsync lines, and I can still get a perfectly stable picture (although currently not correctly positioned based on v/hsync). You'll still need to m...

Re: ST HDMI Out

Sounds interesting. How are you handling 50/60 Hz and the various overscan tricks? I'm currently just doing 50hz at the moment and overscan tricks are fine as they just change when the display enable is active. This is where I found some issues. Some of the overscan tricks do "bad things' to H...

I'd have to check the schematics, but the lcd is going to have some power requirements beyond the normal computer... bias voltage for the LCD, inverter for driving the backlight, etc.

I've contemplated ripping into the diagnostic cart code to see exactly what it is doing that trips bit 7 error. As simbo notes, it may be a false positive.

So, my TT has been acting a little strange, boots up most of the time, but crashes before too terribly long (a few minutes). Grabbed a diagnostic cart, and I get the dreaded red screen and message "MCU msb (7) never set" Checked the TOS chips. they were 150 and 200. Aha! says me. I made a ...

I'm intrigued by the "supershifter" idea, and if you have any specific thoughts on how it could be approached I'd be really interested. I thought about it before now, but given the time and cost it took to do the supervidel I didn't raise it. The reason I think porting SuperVidel isn't re...

The GEM, is already open by those who bought Digital Research, and that makes all the DOS parts of TOS, open as well. The only parts that aren't, are the Atari specific, and Falcon specific code. Atari is gone for good, Digital Research, as well. Which, as far as I know, more or less voids their ab...
