Well fair enough about it being moved, I was originaly going to post it on the talk crap section, but thought it might be more relavant in the for sale, but thats cool. As for the whole topic of my intentions, If I had gone in with the intention of selling a laptop then I'll more then likely sell it...

Well its technically an item for sale or an item thats wanted, just the same as someone would want to sell an Amiga which arguably has nothing to do with Atari. In fact, if you want to be wet about it which you are, you can run an Atari elmulator on this laptop, therefore making it have something to...

Free Laptop?

Ok, I trust you'll all know me on this forum well enough to know I'm not a spammer. I've been looking on Ebay for a laptop, something around the low end p3 region for 50 quid. And after being bored to death trying to battle it out with other bargain hunters I stumbled accross some dodgy link for a f...

I saw a Stacy on Ebay a week or so ago without batteries but with a power supply included sold as working. On the listing it had a screen shot of the atari powered on. Dunno if that piece of information helps. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6790708618&rd=1&sspagenam...

It doesn't come with a battery :( I know because of the nature of batteries, the chances of finding a half decent original battery with Stacy is virtually nil. However is there any chance of finding somewhere that sells reconditioned ones?

Well I guess common sense tells me to wait until a UK falcon becomes available for that complete Atari experience.

I always thought that when you use a HD floppy in a DD drive it will work, but the information stored on the disk will be more prone to corruption and the data won't last on the disk as long. If you want a website that sells the HD kits, and possibly the tos chips go here: http://www.cps-electronics...

Hmmm, I been looking up prices of Magic 6 on some website and they are looking for nearly a 100 pound. Although I do believe strongly in supporting any businesses that still deal in Atari in this day and age, I'd like to see how it runs on my TT before I spend a lot of cash. Is there any place where...

Who does the demoscene consist of? is it like various hippies still coding for Ataris, sat in their sheads sipping on cups of mushroom tea?

hmm, thats gonna be a long 3-4 months wait. Would it be wise to buy one from mainland europe? are they're many differences between a uk falcon and a europeon one?

I was looking at this one on ebay...http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 5223021453

Buying Atari Falcon

I've been keeping my eye on Ebay for a few weeks now, and haven't noticed any Atari Falcons for sale within the UK. How often do they crop up on ebay? and how much can I expect to pay for one which is in mint condition, and one which has been well used? I might be able to locate one which is owed by...

O/S for Atari?

What operating system do you guys use on your Atari's? Do you just stick with Tos or do you use Magic or Mint?

I've read in the past about how Magic is quite an improvement over any version of Tos, especially on something like a TT.

800K limitation?

I've been trying to convert *.st files off of my pc onto floppy so I can run them on my Atari. I have noticed that when trying to convert 800k images (or slightly less) onto disk my pc will refuse to. I have read about it being due to the floppy drive controller on the pc (or something along those l...

Is there anyway of getting an Atari to run via Broadband? I noticed a Lan port on the side of my TT, so maybe with some clever electronics and good programming skills, you can create some kind of ethernet converter?

Hmmm, learning C looks like the best way then, if it will encorporate assembler and help me to understand it as well. How easy is it to get hold of a copy of that C programming language second edition?

The problem with buying exeternal is that I feel guilty about ripping the drive out of the casing and ruining it. I know it probably sounds silly. Having said that, going by how rare an external drive is, the chances of just an internal floppy drive being up for grabs isn't going to happen very ofte...

I have skimmed the surface of C, Java and Assembler before - basically I was doing a computer course at college for a couple months, then I dropped out. So I literally was only given a crude idea of how they work, and never really progressed too far.

That is quality seeing people still use their Ataris as their main computer. Kind of reminds me of a hippy commune.

What is it like trying to use an Atari TT for web browsing?
