Re: Neo Desk 4 - where can i find original disks? (not emulator)

Unfortunately, I cannot help you with creating the disks. I have not had a floppy disk drive for about 10 years. Hopefully, someone can help you out,

Re: Neo Desk 4 - where can i find original disks? (not emulator)

It looks like you can use JayMSA (http://jaysoft.atari.org) to extract the files from the MSA archive. You will need to copy the MSA file to your Atari before using JayMSA. Once you have extracted the files, you can copy them to floppy disks. If you do not have a hard drive for your ST, I am assumin...

Re: Geneva

I assume the question is regarding the source code to Geneva and NeoDesk and not simply the binaries. I am only guessing that "real life" has gotten in Dan's way regarding the release of the source code.

Re: No picture Atari 130xe

I am not a hardware person, but if you are using the switch box (RF) that came with the 130XE, you would need to be able to connect the old connectors to a current coax connection. If you have done this, I would check that the channel switch matches the channel number on your TV. The simplest soluti...

Re: Hatari 2.1.0 has been released

Have you inserted GFA Basic into Drive A? I do not see where you have opened the drive to see GFA. If you have GFA Basic on a GEMDOS drive, you could use the Install Devices command to see those drives. However, it would be easiest to start with if GFA Basic was on an ST image that you inserted into...

Glad to see this done and I donated to the Gribnif page but I sure wish it was in a native format instead of .ST... :( 'unpack' it in an emulator. Understood - but I don't "do" emulators. If you have a Windows machine (or run Wine in Linux), MSA Converter can extract the files from...

Dan,

Thanks so much for releasing Neodesk 4 and Geneva. It definitely brings back nostalgic memories. I was happy to donate to the Gribnif "tip jar" for the memories that your products brought to me when I was an active ST user.

I have a problem with the cursor (also in previous version). There are 2 cursors visible and neither is able to cover the whole window. I have to resize the window and then all is working as expected. Using High Sierra. How can I solve this? Am I the only one? Depending on your usage, the easiest m...

Nice work by all in involved. One small issue. The dialog seen here on macOS Sierra (English): File -> Load config... The buttons still work opposite of what they say. Previous version had the same issue. I've not noticed anything else unusual. I submitted this to the Hatari-devel m...

I would download Hatari again. There was a problem with the first version of Hatari 2.1.0 on older versions of macOS. I think those have been resolved.

Re: If then else bypass

MrPixel, If you use Turbo Basic XL (TBXL) for the Atari 8-bit, you will get more structures (REPEAT/UNTIL, IF/THEN/ELSE, etc.). However, if you want to use the built-in Atari BASIC (maybe you do not want to use OSRAM in the XL/XE systems which can cause compatibility issues), then you will have to m...

Yes, macOS has the dd tool since it is BSD-based. Fujiyama will need to use the Terminal app in order to get to the command line.

You do not need a Dropbox account to download his files. There is a download link on the page that allows you to simply download the file.

Actually, the biggest expense is they are DriveSavers. They have an excellent reputation of data recovery, but their prices are high enough that you will never pay them unless you want the data back very badly. Their prices are a terrific reason for good backups. A modern Mac or Windows drive that n...

Re: Hatari 2.0.0 & MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 crash problem

I tried transitioning to a Mac from my beloved Gnome-shell when I started at my new job. I had a hard time with it, they do some things rather unintuitive for someone who has lived through all the Ataris and Amigas and onto Windows and various Linux desktop environments. So now I just 'apt install ...

Re: Hatari 2.0.0 & MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 crash problem

Now that you have it working, you will want to search on Google for actual Atari ROMs. The included EmuTOS is good, but you'll have the best compatibility with the original Atari ROMs.

You should also look at the Mac menus. You can use them instead of the SDL F 12 menus.

Re: Hatari 2.0.0 & MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 crash problem

You install a program by copying it from the disk image (dmg file) to your hard disk. While Hatari appears to run from the disk image, many Mac programs will not like this. Like a lot of disk images, Hatari shows an alias (shortcut) to the Applications folder. You simply drag the Hatari application ...

I also use Hatari 2.0.0 on my 2016 MacBook Pro with 10.12.4. I do not have any problems using the SDL F12 menu. I will mention that, unless you are in full screen mode, you can use the Preferences menu item in the Hatari menu or the Insert Disk A or Insert Disk B menu options in the File menu in ord...

If you simply want Hatari to use a default configuration that you want, simply name the file Hatari.cfg and it will be selected as the default configuration file. I am guessing the other users who answered are Linux users. While Windows does have a command prompt, I have seen fewer people using it. ...
