Major Motion crashes on first joystick move in the game with 512k EmuTOS ROM even if machine has 4MB of RAM (tested in Hatari).

Re: Pack-Mania

Tested few of the games with EmuTOS. Worked fine with *192k* v0.9.7 and v0.9.8-RC2, saw crashes (in Major Motion) with v0.9.7+git 512k version.

Re: VanillaMiNT has finally been updated

There seems to be something very weird happening with mint.cnf parsing. Depending on how much comment or echo lines there are after INIT= line, MiNT either parses, or doesn't parse the INIT line. Any idea why I get CNF file problems only with TT emulation (= ACSI), not with Falcon (=IDE)? This prob...

There are many different Doom WADs, and BadMood is very particular which one you need to use. It's all documented in BadMood readme files.

Re: hatari in falcon mode + IDE drive

Btw. It's possible that HD Driver hadn't crashed for you. It's probing is for some reason *very* slow with Hatari. Did you wait at least 10 minutes?

Re: hatari in falcon mode + IDE drive

Ishar problem had nothing to do with GEMDOS HD emulation, but Videl one. I added workaround for that in Hatari devel version. FYI: "Ishar", "Lasers and Hommes", Moonspeeder, "Bound 3" & "Bound 5" demos, Hextracker and several other things froze at start wi...

Re: VanillaMiNT has finally been updated

MiNT has fun when loading CNF files by passing odd (non-even) buffers to the disk API. Even if this questionable, we are going to fix EmuTOS to support that on plain 68000. Currently, the EmuTOS IDE driver crashes with illegal address in such case. Any idea why I get CNF file problems only with TT ...

Re: hatari in falcon mode + IDE drive

On hatari 2.0, configured as falcon with TOS 4.04 I am trying to create an hard-drive image used as an IDE drive. Obviously I need to install an Hard-Drive driver but HDDRIVER 7.x is crashing (stuck at the load of the driver after the probe of the drive) and AHDI 6.x is refusing to format the drive...

Re: VanillaMiNT has finally been updated

Neither EmuTOS nor Hatari supports TT SCC. EmuTOS supports it. I think this is MiNT driver bug, it doesn't handle SCC (non-)existence properly If you don't have SCC, then just go to \mint\1-19-cur and remove scc.xdd. Ah right, I should have though that. After that Hatari TT emulation + EmuTOS conti...

Re: VanillaMiNT has finally been updated

I tried this in Hatari with latest EmuTOS snapshot (as EmuTOS works without HD driver), but I'm running into problems: On TT emulation: * If I either enable MMU, or 32-bit addressing & TT-RAM, I get bus error & EmuTOS panic after "realloc_region: reg is NULL" * If I don't enable MM...

Re: Looking for a Black Lamp Download

You can also use EmuTOS that is a free compatible TOS. Many games don't run with EmuTOS, but according to Eero seems this one does. Most games actually do run fine with (latest) EmuTOS, especially if you select EmuTOS version intended for given machine version. Latest EmuTOS version for ST is here:...

Re: Minimal multitask configuration for Hatari

every PC should be able to emulate a 32Mhz Atari without it. I guess you haven't tested any Falcon stuff. My 3G Hz Intel i3 isn't fast enough to emulate Falcon (=16MHz CPU + 32Mhz DSP) at acceptable speed with more DSP intensive games & demos when using Hatari's (default & more accurate) Wi...

Re: Minimal multitask configuration for Hatari

Are you doing double clicking with (single) middle mouse button click, or by doing real double click with left mouse button? Latter will be impacted by fast forward, former shouldn't. But thats a bug in Hatari then. Double-click time should not be affected by emulated speed. The time between double...

It's possible that it had regressed at some point. It had worked fine with all the games I tested (Midimaze for networking, Leisure Suit Larry & Empire for music output) and many free MIDI program's from Tim's MIDI world (midimouse was my favorite) and Sequencer One I had gotten from a ST Format...

Re: Hatari MIDI support

MIDI output (Linux) support was added to Hatari v0.45 (2003), and MIDI input support to Hatari v1.2 (2009), from which point MIDI music output has worked pretty well (= was tested more extensively) e.g. in games. There were additional fixes for different Cubase versions in Hatari v1.7 & v1.9, an...

Re: Diamond Edge now GPL

There were several serious bugs in Diamond Edge v2.04 (the source version I received). To my knowledge, they are all now fixed, and have been for a long while. If you read the CHANGES.TXT file (or the comments at the start of each module), you should see them referenced. I don't see CHANGES.TXT eit...

Re: [Help] for software... and decompress .ST floppy

Hatari has a hmsa tool that should be able to access those files, but i'm not sure wether there is a precompiled version version for windows available. Hatari "hmsa" tool just converts between MSA <-> ST image formats and creates empty images, it doesn't extract their contents. There's al...

Re: [Help] for software... and decompress .ST floppy

If the disk formats are DOS compatible, at least on Linux you can use MTools to copy their content out: mkdir destination mcopy -i DISK.ST -spmv '::*' destination/ (verbose, recursive copy that preserves file attributes & creation times. Use '*' instead of '*.*' to get all files.)

Re: Looking for CAF206 startup info(mint)

TOS doesn't check what mode flags application uses. EmuTOS was changed, maybe few years ago, to relax its own checks for compatibility with some apps which use broken modes (e.g. Wolf3D).
