Re: Roc'hell by Dune

Dummy question: how to create a disk image to use it with an hxc floppy emulator? anyone? In latest SainT release: http://leonard.oxg.free.fr/SainT/saint.html There is a program called "Dir2Msa" which can create a .msa disk image from files in a directory. .msa should be usable wi...

Re: Roc'hell by Dune

Nice idea ThorstenOtto, cool that you experimented on this!

At the moment, it seems RocHell levels are from the first BoulderDash, or maybe just the first 3 or 4 levels.

Re: Roc'hell by Dune

As i recently tried the Android version of Rocks & Diamonds, you can find large amounts of additional levels here: https://www.artsoft.org/rocksndiamonds/levels/ http://www.bd-fans.com/RnD.html#Levels And on the first link, one set of levels is described as: “Emerald Mine Club” (50962 levels in ...

The only time i saw a instantly killed ST, was when unplugging a cartridge (ST replay) while it was running (Sound Lab software).

Re: MIDI Trackers

Well the "STe channels" are named that way in maxYMiser, because they were first created to add two digital samples based voices, using the STe digital audio hardware, along the 3 YM ones. Then, when MIDI functions were added in the software, one implemented feature has been the ability to...

Re: MIDI Trackers

maxYmiser allows you to enter notes for MIDI out on the 2 additional channels, really. I tried it, it works. Check manual at section 13: https://preromanbritain.com/maxymiser/man_v134.txt What have you tried to run Audio Sculpture on Hatari? What doesn't work? I just tried the .msa provided here on ...

Re: MIDI Trackers

Hello to you, Audio Sculpture is described as supporting MIDI in/out, so you should be able to use it as a sequencer for MIDI synths. But then it's 4 channels only (as it's a 4 channels .mod editor at first), and not sure if it handles any MIDI functions (like CC). Also the YM2149 chip-tracker maxYM...

Re: Found some old pictures :-)

Funny, the (french) ST Magazine had put "Match It" on one of his cover disks, and it was actually a standalone edition of the demo version, as it has the Chambers of Shaolin Mad Max music.

Re: state of the art atari SNDH music?

I also recommend Ay_Emul. It allows to listen YM songs in STEREO! Ah i don't recommend that option personally, as you then do not listen the track as the composer intended you to. (and when an instrument is interleaved on several channels, this then jumps over the stereo) Tested by me, and it works...

Re: state of the art atari SNDH music?

By the way, when listening SNDH on a Windows PC, i recommend Ay_Emul over WinJAM.
The noise emulation is more faithful on this one.
Also available for Linux (untested by me).

Re: state of the art atari SNDH music?

Indeed !Cube is the actual master at composition, no contest imho. Some of his work is quite inspired by previous ST musicians style on some aspects, but then it's a great compendium of styles. Then STU, 505, Ultrasyd, gwEm, Yerzmyey, Cerror, got great "dance-electro" styles with advanced ...
