Re: utility to help game / demo coders

Thanks for bringing my attention back to this thread. I seemed to have lost track of it *apologies*. I have downloaded the program and run it once. I suppose that this utility will take care of some of the menial things that I tend to code out now (like converting pi1 to 1 bpl, cutting stuff out et...

It was a memory erasing / synchro problem between 2 screens (logical / physical).
I do not remember the exact sequence and code (maximum vbl gfa demo), but if i notice the same kind of differnce for my next prods, i'll tell you :)

Re: Sprite with transparency

You have to invert the mask, set all bits that have to preserved, clear all bits that should show the sprite data. This mask can be applied with a normal bit AND operation (assembly coded sprite routines do that). Apply sprite data with normal bit OR. Btw. you can calculate a simple sprite mask as ...

Sprite with transparency

Hi ! I'm using back gfa for sprite / block display with transparency on a given 4 planes background in ST LOW. What i need do not require great speed so rc copy and get/put are enough. However, when i use bit (graphmode) mode 1 (AND) to put mask of sprite on background, and then i put the sprite him...

Re: recolor a full ST LOW to put used colors in first indexe

But Grafx2 will never support those many ST specifics..such as sprite cutters, mask generators, code generator for sprites... Years ago I asked them to support .god file format (should be easy) and as far as i know it is still not implemented. http://code.google.com/p/grafx2/issues/detail?id=499 So...

Re: recolor a full ST LOW to put used colors in first indexe

Not to spoil the party, but Grafx2 have this feature. Pal / Reduce / To uniques You're right about the palette optimisation, grafx is so good :) even if it is heavy on a basic 520 stf for example. Please take in consideration this program was coded about 95% 15-20 years ago. About 1300 lines of gfa...

I'll try first to correct bugs, then will make some adds (NOT IMPLEMENTED function exist but need to be adapted) if i see some people sow me real interest on it. So here's the GF...

Althoug, text (print) works well on whole screen. And Gfa basic interpretor pass to st low each time program is run and return to medium once back.
I'll try to launch it in medium to see changes.

Re: BITBLT example for 256 colors

You rocks Lonny ;o)
Clean code as usual :)

I'll give it a try in TC too.
Require a large block to be interessant (speed) compared to chained bmove or generated card or long, as they are lot of initialisations to do.
But your code is flexible.
